Amaia Land Corp. Official Statement

Amaia Land Corp. (“Amaia”) would like to address and clarify the security incidents making  rounds in social media that happened at Tower 2 of Amaia Skies Cubao (the “Project”), one of  the condominium projects it developed.

The property manager of the Project’s condominium corporation (“Condo Corp.”) has already  reached out to Ms. Angely Dub and has taken the lead on this matter given that the operations  of the condominium are being managed by the Condo Corp. since 2018. These incidents have  already been referred to the local authorities for proper investigation, with the Condo Corp.  actively assisting in the investigation of the matter and implementing more stringent security  measures.

As for the lack of CCTVs in the hallway, we take this opportunity to confirm that the Project was  built to be compliant with all applicable laws and regulations and that Amaia had installed  CCTVs in all the required areas.

Amaia will continue to extend assistance to the Condo Corp. in the resolution of this matter.

DepEd statement addressing the accusation of misinforming the President about the K to 12 Program

The Department of Education (DepEd) strongly objects to the accusation that DepEd officials and other agencies are feeding President Benigno S. Aquino III with wrong information on the readiness of the government to implement the K to 12 Program. The Department maintains fidelity to the Filipino people and assures them that we continue to be transparent and accountable

We reiterate that the government is on track in the implementation of the K to 12 Program. In fact, DepEd has built 86,478 classrooms and hired 128,105 teachers from 2010 to 2014. DepEd has already requested funds for the construction of 27,499 classrooms, and will be hiring 37,000 teachers in 2016 for Senior High School alone.

DepEd Statement on the shooting incident at PNHS

The Department of Education offers its sincere condolences to families who lost their loved ones following yesterday’s shooting incident at Pangasinan National High School (PNHS). We are one with them in this time of bereavement and are deeply saddened as we count, among those killed, our very own teachers and members of the DepEd family.

We at DepEd condemn all forms of violence especially as they occur in schools. We maintain that schools are zones of peace where the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and personnel are of utmost importance.

While classes at PNHS remain suspended today, our field offices are working closely together with other agencies and offices in dealing with the situation. We commit to foster a sense of normalcy by providing the necessary psychological interventions to the community of PNHS. We enjoin local authorities to persevere in ensuring that justice prevails

GMA Network Statement For "MY HUSBAND'S LOVER"

“GMA Network welcomes the scrutiny of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) of our primetime program ‘My Husband’s Lover’. We believe that our program while tackling sensitive real-life situations is produced with utmost prudence and in good taste. The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board or MTRCB has given the program an SPG (Strong Parental Guidance) rating and GMA is committed to comply with all its standards.

We would like to thank all the viewers of ‘My Husband’s Lover’ for supporting our program not just by watching it but via intelligent discussions and comments in all forms of media. The Kapuso Network is pleased with the high ratings that ‘My Husband’s Lover’ has achieved in its first two weeks and would like to assure the Filipino audience that we will continue to produce relevant and entertaining programs.”

GMA Network's official statement on Sarah Lahbati

"Last December, Sarah Lahbati unilaterally decided to take a leave of absence of one (1) month from GMA Network, because she said she wanted to de-stress and unwind.  Because her reasons were vague, they were not accepted by management.  While we understand that work in our industry can be stressful (as in any business), we believe that this is not only unavoidable in most cases, but also a part of what one does as a professional and/or performing artist.

Her leave of absence was also disapproved by management because of her pending obligations (i.e. Party Pilipinas, on-going promos and other endorsement commitments).  However, on the evening of Jan 2, she tweeted that she will be going to Switzerland to study, despite the disapproval given to her last December on taking a leave.  This is in violation of her contract, because she has to perform and appear in programs and events assigned to her, and make herself available to faithfully and promptly fulfill all engagements contracted for her by GMA.

At the same time, she has yet to address the issue of her walking out during taping, which caused the production team to pack-up, and incur an additional cost of 500k.  She is therefore, currently under investigation and the network is still studying on what actions to take."

GMA Network's Statement on "Haram"

HARAM is a story about the love of LUIS (Dingdong Dantes) a soldier who is of Christian faith for a Muslim girl, NADI (Kylie Padilla).

Eventually, the soldier will find out that this love is "haram" (forbidden); this is the reason why Nadi's family is strictly against their friendship-much more their union.

But because Luis's love is true, he wants to prove that he only has good intentions for Nadi. This pushes him to convert to Islam, so that his love for Nadi would no longer be forbidden.

This is the story of Haram.

GMA NETWORK STATEMENT ON RHIAN RAMOS’ REQUEST FOR LEAVE

GMA Network received a request from its artist Rhian Ramos for a few weeks leave from her work schedule because of the trauma she is going through. She asked that she be replaced in “The Beloved” as she feels that she cannot give her best to the show given her current state of mind.  She also asked for a few weeks leave from her other shows “Manny Many Prizes” and “Party Pilipinas.”

GMA understands her request and will allow her to take some time out from her obligations to the Network. Once she comes back from her break, she will resume appearing in her shows “Manny Many Prizes” and “Party Pilipinas.”  She will also resume work on her new movie project with GMA Films.
