Ayala Malls Cinemas Exclusively Brings Compelling Filipino Originals With Queer Comedy-Thriller “Marupok A+,” Starring Ej Jallorina, Royce Cabrera And Maris Racal

Ayala Malls Cinemas exclusively brings another acclaimed Filipino film to the theaters with “Marupok A+.” Directed by Quark Henares and starring EJ Jallorina, Royce Cabrera, and Maris Racal, the film centers around the use of catfishing in the online dating world.

When Janzen Torres (EJ Jallorina), a transgender woman, matches with Theo Balmacenda (Royce Cabrera), it seems that love is right around the corner, but she soon learns that not everything is what it seems, and Theo might be luring her into something dangerous.

The cast includes EJ Jallorina, who started out as a child star in the hit TV show "Goin’ Bulilit", and star of the tv shows and films such as "Marry Me, Marry You" and "Mamu, and a Mother Too". Identifying as a transgender person, she was part of Preview’s iconic Pride cover for June 2024.

With so many international contents readily available in many platforms, Globe Telecom pushes Original Filipino Content (OFC) to greater heights with their launch of "For The Love Of Local." "Rakenrol" DVD Out Now Under GMA Records

The OPM rock-inspired movie "Rakenrol" Written by Quark Henares and co-written by Sandwich guitarist Diego Castillo is now out on DVD format under GMA records Home Video.

Starring Jayson Abalos, Glaiza de Castro, Ketchup Eusebio, Alwyn Uytinco as the four-man band called Hapipaks, they were formed with the efforts of two best friends which share the passion for pinoy Rock and Roll. Diether Ocampo is also part of the movie as Jacci Rocha, 

Also screened on that day is the short film adaptation of Macoy's comic "Ang Maskot" starring Ketchup Eusebio, Ramon Bautista, and Alessandra De Rossi. 

Rakenrol was released as a commercial film in 2011 and  was said to be Quark's last indie film. Though elements of the film were made as early as 2005 which was worth the wait as the movie portrayed the reality of rakistas and the lives behind the band members.
