REVIEW: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

After so many years, there is still a lot of clamor for transformer movies which rakes in millions of dollars in the box office. Despite having to change some of the lead  human characters,  the real stars are still the transformers.

And with such extensive lore, there are still a lot of stories that can be produced and transformers to be introduced. Though Optimus Prime and Bumblebee remain as crowd favorites for the franchise and should always have an appearance.

This time we are now introduced to the Maximals in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, wherein we are also introduced to two new human characters, Noah Diaz and Elena, each being a specialist in their own fields. Maximals take the form of beasts which are bound to protect a certain key that is connected to a big villain in the franchise, Unicron. New favorite autobots for me is Mirage voiced by Pete Davidson, which has that comedic connection and charisma among all of the robotic aliens for the film.

Bumblebee - The Worthy Transformers Movie

Another hyped movie that opens ths January is a spin-off movie of the Transformers franchise with the lovable Bumblebee. Starring Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, and Jorge Lendeberg Jr., theis new take on the Transformers was seen with a more positive outlook compared with the previous films.

Set in the 80s, Bumblebee comes in the golden age of the Transformers history with characters looking close to the original look. Though the aesthetics still has the modern touch, going back to the roots which made classic fans very happy.

Transforming into a Volkswagen Beetle is probably the many loved the film as it is the iconic vehicle Bumblebee transforms into. But you would also see the link why he changes to his modern verson, the Camaro. Unlike the Michael Bay films which are full of explosions, this one made a balance of a fun adventure wth just the right amount of metal and explosions. Though the story became lighter and a little formulaic, it was able to grasp the emotion of the audience with the chemistry of Bee and Charlie.

Optimus, Bumblebee in New "Transformers: The Last Knight" Poster

Paramount Pictures has just launched the new Transformers: The Last Knight one-sheet showing Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in combat mode, with the ominous tagline, “For one world to live, the other must die.”

The fifth instalment of the massively successful Transformers franchise is coming to Philippine theatres on June 21, 2017,

In the film, when all seems lost, a few brave souls can save everything we’ve ever known.

Directed by Michael Bay,The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
