“Exhuma” breaks box office records in Korea

The mystery occult film Exhuma, starring Choi Min-Shik, Kim Go-Eun, Yoo Hae-Jin and Lee Do-Hyun, opened strong at No. 1 at the Korean box office, holding on to the top spot on its entire opening weekend and setting the biggest opening record in Korea for 2024 thus far. 

Prior to its debut in cinemas on February 22, Exhuma set a new record for pre-sale numbers with a 54% real-time reservation rate and 369.99 million advance bookings, even in the face of tough competition.

A wealthy family uncovers something darker as they try to cast out the paranormal forces in their home. What they thought would be relief as the hired shamans perform an exhumation to appease the haunting force, turns out to be the ‘’start of their nightmare. Watch Choi Min-Shik, Yoo Hae-Jin, Kim Go-Eun, and Lee Do-Hyun face evil as Exhuma arrives in Philippine cinemas on March 20.

About Exhuma:

After suffering from serial paranormal events, a wealthy family living in LA summons a young rising shaman duo Hwa Rim and Bong Gil to save the newborn of the family. Once they arrive, Hwa Rim senses a dark shadow of their ancestor has latched on the family in a so-called 'Grave Calling'. In order to exhume the grave and relieve the ancestor, Hwa Rim seeks help from top-notch geomancer Sang Deok and mortician Yeong Geun. To their dismay, the four find the grave at a shady location in a remote village in Korea. Unaware of the consequences, the exhumation is carried out, unleashing a malevolent force buried underneath.
