Though born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and a Fil-American, Mark "Mugen" Striegl fights in the MMA rings as a proud Filipino. He currently has 14 wins and 2 losses for his MMA career which he making his mark and aiming to give the country a international title.
But the road to be a MMA fighter was not that easy, He first started with wrestling while in high school, and under his brother’s tutelage soaked up other fighting styles such as Aikido, Taekwondo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Influenced by Pride Fighting Championship and K-1, he fought and made an impressive 77-1 record.
He joined the Wajutsu Keisyukai Gods dojo after high school and when they moved to San Diego, California during his college years, Mark trained at Victory MMA, and shuttled regularly between San Diego and Tokyo, keeping his loyalty to his Wajutsu “home.”
