REEL DEAL: Duplicity - Jake Gyllenhall On Creating The Characters Adam And Anthony In Enemy

What would you do if you discover someone who looks exactly like you?

The reality of finding your doppelganger or a mirror image or yourself is the intriguing premise of the upcoming psychosexual thriller ENEMY, released by Solar Pictures. 

Based on the novel “The Double” by José Saramago, ENEMY tells the story of a university lecturer named Adam (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is nearing the end of a relationship with his girlfriend Mary (Melanie Laurent). One night, while watching a film, Adam spots a minor actor who looks just like him. Consumed by the desire to meet his double, Adam tracks down Anthony (Jake Gyllenhaal), an actor living with his pregnant wife Helen (Sarah Gadon) and engages him in a complex and dangerous struggle.  

“HERCULES” Storms Into IMAX Theaters in PH July 23

IMAX Corporation, Paramount Pictures, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures recently announced that Brett Ratner's action epic, “Hercules,” will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released by Paramount Pictures and MGM in IMAX® theatres worldwide, including the Philippines on July 23, 2014.

REEL DEAL: Disney Casts Newcomer For Mowgli Role in “THE JUNGLE BOOK”

After an extensive worldwide search ranging from New York to New Zealand, London to Canada, and all throughout the United States and India, The Walt Disney Studios is pleased to announce that 10-year-old Neel Sethi will play the part of Mowgli in Disney’s “The Jungle Book.”

Neel is a newcomer from New York picked from among thousands of auditions, and his role in “The Jungle Book” marks his first foray into acting.

“Casting is the most important element of any film and finding the right kid to play Mowgli was imperative,” said director Jon Favreau. “Neel has tremendous talent and charisma. There is a lot riding on his little shoulders and I’m confident he can handle it.”

What happens when you leave three adopted children in the hands of A depressed drunkard who dreams of becoming a famous musician?

This is the story that ABS-CBN’s newest family drama, “Hawak Kamay,” will begin to tell as it hits TV screens on Monday (July 21) to reach out to modern day Filipino families.

The kick-off of the series also marks acclaimed actor Piolo Pascual’s much-anticipated return to television drama following the success of his movie “Starting Over Again” earlier in the year. Piolo will be taking on “Hawak Kamay” along with three of the country’s most powerful child stars, Zaijan Jaranilla, Andrea Brillantes, and Xyriel Manabat. The series will also introduce Grand i-Shiner Yesha Camile, who was under the mentorship of Piolo during her stint in the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp.

Columbia Pictures has revealed two main posters (International and US) for its upcoming adult comedy “Sex Tape” starring Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel. Both onesheets feature the couple with bewildered expressions – and who couldn't blame them, with the embarassing fiasco they've gotten themselves into?

In “Sex Tape,” Jay (Segel) and Annie (Diaz) are a married couple still very much in love, but ten years and two kids have cooled the passion. To get it back, they decide – why not? – to make a video of themselves trying out every position in THE JOY OF SEX in one marathon three-hour session. It seems like a great idea, until they discover that their most private video has gone public. In a panic, they begin a wild night of adventure – tracking down leads, roping in friends, duping Annie’s boss – all to reclaim their video, their reputation, their sanity, and, most importantly, their marriage.

DepEd begins rapid damage assessments in Glenda-affected areas

The Department of Education reported that there were 115 school divisions in 12 Regions affected by Typhoon Glenda. Over 50 school divisions have resumed classes and operations as of today, July 17.

To date, a total of 187 schools have been used as temporary evacuation centers since the preparations for the typhoon began.

REEL DEAL: “TARZAN” Swings Into Action As Filming Begins On The New 3D Adventure

Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ new Tarzan 3D action adventure, starring Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s “True Blood”) as the legendary character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters, including “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Parts 1 & 2,” is directing. Jerry Weintraub (“Behind the Candelabra,” the “Ocean’s” trilogy) is producing the film, together with David Barron (the “Harry Potter” films, upcoming “Cinderella”). Susan Ekins, Nikolas Korda, David Yates, Mike Richardson and Bruce Berman are serving as executive producers.
