Banana Peel brings Island Fun in the City

For most people, summer is the highlight of the year. It’s the perfect time to break from the daily hustle and bustle of life, and experience new adventures. Luckily, for those who haven’t found the time for their summer getaway, Banana Peel brings the island to the metro on Saturday, May 7, 2016, from 10am to 10pm at the Trinoma Activity Center.

‘Summer in the City: Island Getaway’ is Banana Peel’s summer treat for its loyal followers. “We understand how busy each of us can get these days. We can easily get so caught up in the never-ending demands of work and school, and we end up missing out on that much deserved break. This is why we are bringing the summer island adventure experience to our customers,” enthused Paul Ng, CEO of The Neat, Inc.’s Banana Peel flip flops. “Customers can count on an entire day of island experience,” added Ng.

The day-long event is packed with activities enjoyed in the islands. The ‘Chill Coast’ area offers tropical pampering experiences like the isle’s nail polish, hair-braiding, face painting, and massage. The ‘Wild Trek’ brings the island’s adventure thrill, where guests get to enjoy a 7-meter high wall-climbing inflatable, a giant Eagle’s Nest Kerplunk, Temple Run arcade game, and other action-packed activities. At the ‘Snack Valley’, guests can eat and fuel up with the island treats prepared by sponsors, as they enjoy one activity after another.

Hyper-Kinetic Action Movie “HARDCORE HENRY” Shot On GoPro Cameras

Prepare for a mind-blowing immersive cinematic encounter in “Hardcore Henry” as it gives the audience a chance to experience the entire film through the point-of-view of its main character (cyborg) named Henry.

First time director Ilya Naishuller helms “Hardcore Henry” wherein Henry remembers nothing and his wife Estelle (played by Haley Bennett) has been kidnapped by an extremely powerful warlord with an army of mercenaries.  The line between hero and villain in “Hardcore Henry” is tenuous as he tries to follow and uncover the devious plot against him within the city of Moscow.  The audience – Henry, essentially – assesses in real time just who is friend and who is foe.

Rise Against Movie Piracy Philippines Launched, Contest to Promote Prevention of Online Piracy

The Intellectual Property Office Philippines (IPOPHL), Motion Picture Association (MPA), United States Embassy, and the Korean Copyright Commission (KCC), along with the country’s leading video-on-demand service providers Blink, Hooq and iflix, launched Rise Against Movie Piracy Philippines (RAMP-PH) a video-making contest for Metro Manila-based film students to raise awareness on the importance of respecting copyrighted content by obtaining them only through legal means.

The contest seeks to encourage today’s youth to support films by watching the theatrical release and refraining from pirated media such as torrents or peer-to-peer sites. As digital natives, today’s youth consume content mainly online through their mobile or PC devices. By patronizing legal sources such as subscription-based streaming services, Filipino TV and movie fans help the creative community to continue making movies and TV programs that audiences love.
