Emilia Clarke Displays Singing Prowess in "Last Christmas"

She recently wrapped the final season of the HBO award-winning series Game of Thrones where she played the lead role of Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons.  Now, Emilia Clarke lights up the screen as the aspiring singer Kate, in Universal Pictures’ new romantic comedy Last Christmas.

In Last Christmas, Kate (Clarke) harrumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes, another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Tom (Henry Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate’s barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart … and you gotta have faith.

Henry Golding Gives Heart to Someone Special in "Last Christmas"

Henry Golding exploded onto the leading-man scene in the film world in 2018 playing roles ranging from the Prince Charming of Asia (Crazy Rich Asians) to a dark and mysterious murder suspect (A Simple Favor), and, in Universal Pictures’ new romantic comedy Last Christmas, a quirky guy enchanting his love interest.

Solo: A Star Wars Story - Han's History Finally Revealed!

Like the Avengers, A solo Solo movie (pun intended) has been long been awaited and 2018 was indeed the year of patience with the most favorite space smuggler/pilot finally reveals his origins. Solo: A Star Wars Story may be in between episode VIII and IX, yet it is a good filler while we await the next installment of the space opera.

Casting Han was probably the hardesr task for the creative team to do as it should pass the taste of fans as well to really portray the young Han Solo originally played by Harrison Ford. Initially there were rumors of having Scott Eastwood but it was given to Alden Ehrenreich (Hail!, Ceasar!) which many at first were very hesitant.

But along Alden, they also made interesting casting like Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Donald Glover (The Martian), Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games) and they even have Paul Bettany (Avengers Infinity War) too! They play Qi'ra, Lando Carlissian, Tobias Beckett and Dryden Vos respectively. I also find the new droid L3-37 as a fun droid voiced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Emilia Clarke Finds Love in "Me Before You"‏

British actress Emilia Clarke takes a 360-degree turn from her famous Mother of Dragons character, Daenerys, in “Game of Thrones” to portray the wide-eyed, endearing Louisa, in New Line Cinema’s heart-tugging romance, “Me Before You.”

“What drew me to this movie were the words of Jojo Moyes, the book first and then the script,” explains Clarke. “I was hooked on page one and so excited to play a character with such charm and sincerity, who is so authentically and brilliantly British, and with such a lovely arc in her story.”

"Me Before You" Gets Support from Stellar, Reliable Cast‏

Lending creative and emotional support to the lead stars of New Line Cinema's “Me Before You” are three actors: one on the verge of stardom, two are established stars on their own right. They are Stephen Peacocke (“Hercules”), Charles Dance (HBO's “Game of Thrones”) and Janet McTeer (“Insurgent”).

“Me Before You” is based on the critically acclaimed, bestselling novel by Jojo Moyes. The story revolves around Will Traynor (Sam Claflin) whose world, at one time, was all-encompassing; he lived a “no limits” lifestyle. Now, two years on, we find him utterly confined. Betrayed by his own body due to a spinal cord injury, he resides at his parents’ countryside home. Lou (Emilia Clarke), on the other hand, has rarely stepped outside this little town, and even stepping into the grand Traynor estate—the “castle,” as it’s called by the locals—is foreign to her. Yet they meet, whether by chance or by fate.

Romantic Bestseller "Me Before You" Now a Big Screen Tearjerker‏

“You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible,” says Will Traynor (Sam Clafin) in New Line Cinema's new romantic drama “Me Before You.”

His advice is directed at his effervescent yet seemingly settling caregiver Louisa “Lou” Clark (Emilia Clarke), 26, who claims to be happy in the quaint English town in which they both grew up. But Will, only 31 himself, knows whereof he speaks…perhaps better than most.

“At its most basic, this is a story about the power of love and how it transforms you,” says director Thea Sharrock. “These are two characters who, but for their very different and difficult circumstances, should never have met…but here they are. And that’s where the fairytale begins.”

We have set the bar incredibly high, and we’re going for it.”
