LRMC’s ikotMNL app now with contact tracing feature and Sakay.ph navigation

LRT-1 private operator and maintenance provider, Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), continues to pioneer digitalization for rail transport and find ways to enhance the commuting experience in Metro Manila.

Using the ikotMNL mobile app, LRT-1 passengers on trains and at the stations may activate the contact tracing feature via Bluetooth LE technology that allows detection of other passengers nearby. The contact tracing feature is automated, anonymous, and privacy-first by design. With the integration of this feature, LRT-1 passengers who may have come into close proximity with a fellow passenger who reports or tags himself later on as diagnosed positive with COVID-19 will be notified by government authorities when the respective contact tracing procedure begins. This is part of LRMC'S initiatives to keep reassuring the public of a safe railway, as well as help government authorities in fighting further spread of COVID-19 by addressing the challenges of manual contact tracing and providing safe and anonymous log interactions.

Globe prepares Top Achievers Private School Inc. for the new normal of digital learning

With regular face-to-face classroom education out of the picture due to COVID-19, flexible learning set-ups, and alternative modes of learning delivery have been implemented by the Philippine government as a means to continue schooling. In line with this, the partnership between Globe and Top Achievers Private School Inc. (TAPS) aims to promote and provide a digital learning platform that will be accessible to students, parents, and teachers.

The institution secured the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS), which automates school processes such as the delivery of training courses or educational programs, tracking, reporting, and grading. In addition, the system will help teachers monitor and evaluate student’s performance while continuing education at home. Both teachers and parents also have immediate access to content and materials.

Eve Alai Drops Happy-Sad Banger “Pills And Potions”

The electronic producer teams up with Senara for the breakout jam of the quarantine era.

Singapore based producer-songwriter Eve Alai has finally released “Pills and Potions,” the lead single of his upcoming debut EP, via indie label Umami Records.

His first release with the international label features a collaboration with Sri Lankan pop artist, Senara, whose sassy but smooth vocal performance serves as a perfect balm to the track’s throbbing pulse.

Not your typical dance track, “Pills and Potions” is ready to bop its way into quarantine parties all over the world with its house-inflected beats, slinky grooves, and gleefully immaculate production. Its somber lyrics about the realities of relationships are in a different vein entirely, but somehow the contrasting effect encourages listeners to dance the pain away.
