Spotify debuted the fourth episode of Billions Club: The Series, the digital franchise featuring artists celebrating the career milestone of surpassing one billion streams on Spotify.

The episode put the spotlight on BLACKPINK’s Lisa, and celebrated her solo hit "Money" reaching one billion streams.  On September 18, the track became her first song to join Spotify’s Billions Club, giving her the honor of becoming the first female K-Pop artist to achieve this milestone on the platform.

While in Paris, Lisa took a moment to celebrate this historic feat and momentous occasion by cooking her favorite Thai dish, Khai Jiao, a shrimp omelet that's a staple in every Thai home. The K-Pop darling also made her favorite Thai dessert Itim Khanom Pang, a coconut ice cream sandwich with sticky rice, which she loves to eat whenever she’s at her grandparents’ house.

LG Showcases Commitment to Culture and Community Through Partnership with CCP's Himig Himbing Event

LG Electronics, one of the global leaders in home entertainment and innovation, is proud to announce its collaboration with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in support of the upcoming "Himig Himbing: Mga Heleng Atin" event. This partnership underscores LG's dedication to fostering cultural enrichment and supporting the vibrant arts community in the Philippines.

"Himig Himbing: Mga Heleng Atin," a project initiated by the CCP, was designed to celebrate and nurture Filipino heritage through songs and lullabies. The event, which took place on November 5, 2023, at the Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (TIG), was an unforgettable celebration of Filipino cultural identity and also served as a book launch for "Himig Himbing."

This year, "Himig Himbing" introduced a fresh dimension with the addition of eight new music videos, each featuring lullabies inspired by the meticulous research of esteemed ethnomusicologist Sol Trinidad, with musical arrangements by Krina Cayabyab. These videos were directed by some of the most renowned Filipino filmmakers in the industry, including Zig Dulay, Jerrold Tarog, Sheron Dayoc, Doy and Ida Del Mundo, Ma-an Asuncion Dagñalan, Vic Acedillo Jr, Arden Condez, and Christopher Gozum.

Big-screen spectacle “Wonka,” is “the perfect Christmas movie,” says director Paul King

When director Paul King, known for the family-favorite Paddington movies, was a child, one of the first books he read was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by beloved children’s book author Roald Dahl. “I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” says King. “I read it again and again until the pages fell out of the cover. I remember loving the wild comedy, all the crazy characters, and the magic and mayhem of the chocolate factory.”

Years later, King would read it again from the perspective of an adult – and he found new things to love about the story! “When David [Heyman, producer] mentioned the idea of making a Wonka movie, I read it again and realized it also has an incredibly rich, almost Dickensian emotional core,” shares the director. “Charlie is such a kind, decent little boy and his family’s poverty causes them such suffering. The fact he goes on to inherit the factory, a more wonderful gift than he could ever have dreamt, had me in floods of tears – and the prospect of trying to make a film which captured Dahl’s spirit was too exciting to turn down.”

Filming a great kill scene in a horror movie is a badge of honor for “Thanksgiving” director Eli Roth

The heart of any slasher movie is the kills, and Eli Roth – the genre’s maestro – would make sure that Thanksgiving reflected his best work.

“Every kill had to meet our standards of scare and gore,” says the Thanksgiving director. “If the movie didn’t deliver on its promise, we’d be dead.” And Roth had the added pressure of having done it already when he made a fake Thanksgiving movie trailer upon the request of his friend Quentin Tarantino, as part of the latter’s Grindhouse double-feature with another fan-favorite director Robert Rodriguez. “I found myself not just trying to match what I did in the trailer, but trying to top it in every way possible,” continues Roth.
