GMA Network secures dominant position in nationwide ratings

GMA Network strengthened its lead in the race for nationwide ratings supremacy, based on data from the industry’s widely trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

For the period October 1 to 31 (with October 23 to 31 based on overnight data), GMA continued to lead competition in NUTAM with a 37.4 percent average household audience share, ahead of ABS-CBN’s 35.6 percent by 1.8 points.

GMA scored top ratings across all dayparts in NUTAM, including primetime due to the consistently strong performance of its programs on this hotly contested block.

Six of the ten most watched programs in NUTAM belonged to GMA with Encantadia, the 2016 version of the well-loved Kapuso telefantasya emerging as the highest-rating Kapuso show nationwide.

Release of Disney's "Moana" Theme Song in Southeast Asia Local Languages

Disney’s latest animation title, Moana, will feature the lead song, “How Far I’ll Go” and the track will be adapted into five Southeast Asia local languages – Bahasa Indonesian, Bahasa Melayu, Thai, Vietnamese and English.

Five singers from Southeast Asia, namely Janella Salvador from the Philippines, Maudy Ayunda from Indonesia, AydaJebat from Malaysia, Myra Molloy from Thailand and MinhNhu from Vietnam were selected to cover the song in each of their local languages.

Artist Center Charismatic Men Win Titles at the PMPC Star Awards 2016

At the recently concluded PMPC Star Awards for Music and Television last October 23, 2016 at Novotel Cubao, GMA Artist Center Talents made a surprising victory and they are young, talented men from the Kapuso Network.

Leading the awardees for this year is the Pambansang Bae, Alden Richards  who bagged several titles this year like Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Artist. He was also nominated for Best Single Performance by an Actor Award for his role in "God Gave Me You" 

The star of Afternoon Prime's "Hahamakin Ang Lahat", Kristofer Martin was honored with the same award for his role in the Magpakailanman episode: "Mag-Ama sa Bilangguan" with co-actor for the episode John Arcilla also nominated for the same category.

Young British Actor Marks Film Debut with "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk"

British actor Joe Alwyn stars in one of the most anticipated movies of the year as he takes on the lead role in Oscar®-winning director Ang Lee's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk. Joe was picked from obscurity to take on the title role of ‘Billy Lynn,' his feature film acting debut.

Based on the acclaimed bestselling novel by Ben Fountain, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk is told from the point of view of 19-year-old private Billy Lynn (newcomer Joe Alwyn) who, along with his fellow soldiers in Bravo Squad, becomes a hero after a harrowing Iraq battle and is brought home temporarily for a victory tour. "Underworld: Blood Wars" Picks Up After "Awakening"
