Neocolors Signs With Universal Records

One of the biggest names in the OPM scene, Neocolours, will finally release new songs this year. To jumpstart this awaited music launch, the band signed up today with its record label, Universal Records. Universal Records’ top executives led by VP Ramon Chuaying , General Manager, Kathleen Dy-Go and Operations Manager, Peter Chan welcomed the members of the band during the contract signing.

Neocolours' songs have been a mainstay of many Filipino listener's playlist. Their songs such as Maybe, Kasalanan Ko Ba, Hold On, Say You'll Never Go and Tuloy Pa Rin have transcended generational barriers and repeatedly re-recorded by some of the country's top recording artists. With the release of new songs starting this March, the band hopes to continue this artistic and musical tradition. Aside from the completion of a new album, Neocolours' other music activities includes a 30th year anniversary show at the Music Museum on April 28, as well as a national tour for the rest of the year.

The story revolves around picture perfect married couple David (Lim) and Kanika (Garcia) whose paradise in each other’s arms will be put to the test as Kanika enters into a dangerous affair shortly after the career of David tanks into a downward spiral. As David discovers Kanika’s transgressions, he flees to Sinilaban Island where he meets and engages in a carnal affair with a girl named Tasha (Hart). Despite their mistakes, David and Kanika decide to rekindle their relationship but Tasha refuses to let go of David.

What else could be a better way to foster camaraderie and strengthen ties between two nations than through music? After all, it is THE universal language that transcends age, race or creed.

This is the heart and soul of the ISHIN DENSHIN International Music Festival, which will be held this coming Saturday, February 10, 9:00 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Open Grounds.

Envisioned as an intercultural celebration between Japan and the Philippines, the 12-hour music festival is inspired by its adage —an embrace of meanings beyond words. “Ishin denshin” literally translates to “what the mind thinks, the heart transmits,” a Japanese idiom.

Netflix Picks Up Myx TV’s “Eat Your Words”

Myx TV, the leading English-language Asian American entertainment network, scored a milestone this January.  Netflix has ordered two seasons of the show, “Eat Your Words”, Myx TV’s food competition show that challenges participants to recreate dishes that they didn’t enjoy at a given restaurant.

“We’re very proud of this accomplishment,” said Myx TV General Manager Miguel Santos.  “Myx TV has been producing reality shows of late that are out of the box and out of the ordinary.  We offer a different palette of storytelling, perspective and experience that appeal across the board and I’m glad that Netflix saw something new and special in one of our works.”
Nominated for six major Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor, Focus Features' historical drama Darkest Hour will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Trinoma, Greenbelt 1) starting February 14.
