Paramount Pictures’ new epic action adventure Mission: Impossible – Fallout features four powerful female characters played by four formidable actresses: with Michelle Monaghan returning, the cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Angela Bassett and Vanessa Kirby.

At the beginning of each of his collaborations with Tom Cruise, director Christopher McQuarrie poses a question. “I ask him, ‘What do you want from this story? What’s one thing you want to do?’ This time Tom said, ‘I want to tie up the story of Julia. People are still asking me about Julia.’  So, we began with that.”

Head of Specialty Costume Ivo Coveney worked on the first Marvel Studios’ “Ant Man,” and found the experience so rewarding, he was happy to come back for “Ant-man and The Wasp.”

Still/Born, Winner of SCARIEST FILM AWARD Hits Ph Theaters This August

At The Overlook Film Festival that celebrates all things horror, thriller/horror film Still/Born won the “Scariest Film” upon its world premiere. Directed by Brandon Christensen, Still/Born tells the story of the perfectly happy life of newlyweds Mary (Christie Burke) and Jack (Jesse Moss) until they lose one of their twins at childbirth. The plot thickens when Mary develops psychosis after learning of a demon, “Lamashtu” who preys on newborns and their mothers.

The Maningning Miclat Art Foundation, Inc. (MMAFI), in cooperation with District Gallery and Far Eastern University, is pleased to announce the extension of submission of Online Entries to the 2018 Maningning Art Competition to July 31, 2018.

Entries must be submitted to maningning2018@gmail.com. Image file of the entry must be high-quality, high-definition, and in JPG format. Artist name, title, dimension, medium, and year of the artwork must be included. Passport photo, biodata, birth certificate, and entry form must be attached in email. 

Outfest Los Angeles Kicks Off on July 12; Filipino American Entry and Cinematografo Original “Bitter Melon” to Screen on July 13

Outfest Los Angeles -- the oldest film festival in Los Angeles and considered the preeminent LGBTQ film festival in the world – kicks off on July 12 a full 11 days of not to be missed world-class films, panels and parties.  One of the more than 150 feature and short films to be shown to an audience of more than 40,000 people is Bitter Melon, a film project chosen last year for funding and support under Cinematografo Originals.

Bitter Melon is the third feature film that filmmaker H.P. Mendoza directed (Fruit Fly, I Am a Ghost). The film had its world premiere at the CAAMFest in San Francisco last May. Dennis Harvey of Variety has described it as “invigorating” and Mendoza’s “best directorial feature to date.”  KGO Radio praised it as “a rare and wonderful movie.”  Tim Sika of the San Francisco Film Critics Circle hailed it as “an indie masterpiece.”
