Nursing has always been a noble profession. With their help in the medical industry, countless lives have been saved. And in the recent years, nursing was the top choice of profession for most students in college which has increased the number of registered nurses in the country. However opportunities are quite scarce and the chance of being hired abroad are slim due to the required experience tenure and global health care reforms which greatly affected nursing demand overseas.
Thus we have a lot of nurses who are still looking for better opportunities or have shifted into a temporary employment while waiting. This is just one of the challenges that the Philippine Nurses Association Inc. faces with the years to come and knowing these problems pushes them to make steps to provide quality nursing profession to health institutions as well as to uphold the practice as a passion to help.
They do know they cannot change it all in a day. However they are considering all the opportunities and alternatives that they can do to achieve their objectives.
One of these steps is their annual convention of Nurses to be held at the Manila Hotel this coming October 21-23, 2014. This gathering bring nurses from all over the country is bounded with the theme "Filipino Nurses Contributing to Global Health Care Outcomes". A timely theme as health threats like Ebola virus is still spreading and more health risks are endangering the lives of many citizens.
They will be expecting around a thousand attendees for the convention with a pre and post convention events also set to provide more engagement and interaction to the participants.
The convention also follows the direction of the ASEAN Integration in 2015 as well as the Millennium Development Goals of 2015 which will first help develop the standard of nursing to be at par with all ASEAN nations as well as to uplift quality of living via health care which they can be delegated.
