Trailer for episode 9 of ‘Mr. Sunshine,’ premiering on Netflix

Netflix revealed the episode 9 preview trailer for the Korean original series Mr. Sunshine, a 24-episode drama from the creators of the global hit series Goblin and Descendants of the Sun.

Ae-sin is shown to be in sadness as she is pushed back from pursuing love but to push forward with her love for the country and to protect. While sad, Ae-sin is clear on the fact that she will fight for the country like a flaming fire and also go away like fire. Dong-mae starts to take interest in the resistance force that Ae-sin is a part of while Hee-sung fights hard for his love for Ae-sin. A mysterious rifle is pointed at the emperor of Choseon as he walks in disguise with a modern hat on his head.

Based in Shinmiyangyo, or the U.S. expedition to Korea in the late 19th century, Mr. Sunshine tells the story of a Korean boy born into a family of house servants who runs away to board an American warship, later to return to his homeland as a U.S. marine officer. He falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter and discovers the dark scheme to colonize the country that he once ran away from.
