‘Momshies’ mark 5th anniversary with first movie project together

Jolina, Melai and Karla exchange souls in ‘Momshies! Ang Soul Mo’y Akin!’

Five years later since they started to spark joy, laughter and inspiration every morning in the Kapamilya talk show ‘Magandang Buhay,’ Jolina Magdangal-Escueta, Melai Cantiveros and Karla Estrada celebrate such milestone this May with their first film project together. But what will happen if they transform as each other?

Titled ‘Momshies! Ang Soul Mo’y Akin!,’ the movie revolves on the three momshies: Jolene (Jolina), Mylene (Melai) and Karlene (Karla) whose lives are changed after they switch souls, literally! This leaves them with no choice but to stick together to live the peculiar lives of each other. Karlene has to convince a group of investors to invest in her near-bankrupt hotel, but no one believes her because she is trapped in Mylene’s body. Mylene can’t pursue her Dubai application because she is trapped in Jolene’s body. While Jolene cannot continue her influencer career because her soul is inside Karlene’s body.

With all of the misadventures and mishaps, how do the trio survive this momshierrific switch?

Produced by Star Cinema and Keep Filming, ‘Momshies! Ang Soul Mo’y Akin’ was helmed by young director Easy Ferrer – his directorial debut under ABS-CBN Films. In previous years, he worked as assistant director in several projects, including ‘Between Maybes,’ ‘The Ghost Bride,’ ‘Bloody Crayons,’ and ‘The Third Party.’

While our own momshies enjoy Jolina, Melai and Karla’s ‘bardagulan’ every morning on our television screens, it’s time to level it up and the best way is to treat them this Mothers’ Month to the Family Comedy Event of the New Decade, along with the popshies, anakshies, auntshies, and grandshies at the comfort of our homes.

Starting May 28, 2021, ‘Momshies! Ang Soul Mo’y Akin!’ streams worldwide via KTX.ph and iWant TFC for only Php249.00; on SKY pay-per-view and Cignal pay-per-view for only Php250.00, and on TFC IPTV for US$4.99. This is distributed by Cinexpress.
