Get Ready To Explore Hong Kong With "The Marvels in Hong Kong" Roving Exhibition

Now that many are traveling outside the country, one of the destinations that many would like to go to is Hong Kong which is known to be a favorite travel destination for many in Southeast Asia especially the Philippines. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) is also celebrating their 25th anniversary along with the The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Jakarta (HKETO Jakarta), together with the Hong Kong Tourism Board wants to welcome guests with a showcase of exciting things about Hong Kong.

Recently, they also unveiled the “Marvels in Hong Kong: 25 Years and Beyond” roving exhibition in Ayala Malls Manila Bay. Co-organised by HKETO Jakarta with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Office and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the exhibition aims to underscore the remarkable achievements of the HKSAR over the past 25 years, as well as to highlight Hong Kong's unlimited opportunities under the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and its appeal in such areas as tourism and culture. Following the lifting of compulsory quarantine requirement for overseas visitors to Hong Kong, HKETO Jakarta aims to showcase different facets of Hong Kong’s latest developments, thereby attracting business and leisure travellers from the Philippines to visit the city.

In his online address, the Commissioner for the Development of the GBA, Mr Tommy Yuen, pointed out that the GBA is the most open and economically vibrant region of China, with enormous growth potential and opportunities. The HKSAR Government has been working closely with Mainland and Macao counterparts to develop and implement policy innovation and breakthrough to facilitate the smooth flow of people, goods, capital and information within the GBA.  Hong Kong will continue to make best use of the advantages of “one country, two systems”, its highly market-oriented business environment underpinned by the rule of law, and its world-class professional services as well as infrastructure connectivity to help our friends from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations participate in and benefit from the GBA development.

Also speaking at the event, the Regional Director of Southeast Asia of the HKTB, Mr Raymond Chan, stated that the HKTB is excited to collaborate with HKETO Jakarta to showcase the diverse neighbourhoods in Hong Kong, such as West Kowloon Cultural District, Sham Shui Po and Central, at this exhibition to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.

The Regional Director of Southeast Asia and South Asia of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Mr Ronald Ho, as well as representatives from the local business community also attended the event.

The Philippines chapter of the “Marvels in Hong Kong: 25 Years and Beyond” roving exhibition will run at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, a major shopping centre in Manila, from today until October 16, during which interactive sessions will be arranged to give out souvenirs to visitors.

HKETO Jakarta has staged this exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Jakarta, Indonesia, over the past two months to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR with local communities.
