Ariel Querubin Announces Senate Bid with Support from Generals and Officers

After quite a while, retired Colonel Querubin finally makes his statement of his Senate bid for 2025 with an event called "A Gathering of Warriors: A Call for Unity and Heroism." This was attended by various former Chiefs of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) from the past administrations.

These AFP and PNP Chiefs who are close to around two thousand Generals and officers back Querubin for his Senate candidacy. This was held at Club Filipino which is a historical venue in Philippine politics and history.

His announcement comes with the support of military and police officers who showed full support to Querubin who has gone into many predicaments which were very risky and has also been detained for his ideologies and personal stand.

Ariel Querubin, a retired colonel and the most bemedaled soldier in Philippine history, is widely recognized for his extraordinary bravery and unwavering dedication to the country. As a recipient of the Medal of Valor, the highest military honor for exceptional courage and self-sacrifice, Querubin's decorated military career and commitment to public service distinguish him as a candidate capable of bridging diverse political prospectives and fostering unity

During his speech, Querubin acknowledged the historical significance of Club Filipino, a site of many transformative events in the nation's history. The retired colonel reflected on the diverse political journeys of those present, mentioning key events such as Martial Law, the EDSA revolutions, various coups, and the presidencies from Marcos to Marcos Jr.

"Truth be told, all of us here stood on different sides in many pivotal moments of our nation's rustory, Querubin noted.

"And yet, we gather here today not as allies of the many political factions but as brothers in arms who have once and always will put our lives for our children, families, and fellow Filipinos We stand united in our service to the Philippines, in our service to God."

Querubin accepted the challenge to serve the nation again by running for the Senate in 2025. highlighting the critical need to address corruption, poverty, and inflation. The retired colonel also emphasized the urgency of securing the country's sovereignty against internal and external threats.

"We find ourselves at a crossroads, Querubin stated. "The bullying in the West Philippine Sea threatens our sovereignty, while the proliferation of illegal POGOs brings social issues that affect our communities. And the call for the modernization of our military to secure our nation and uphold our sovereignty with the respect it deserves - is nothing short of urgent and vital for our survival as a free nation."

Querubin also underscored the need to strengthen the Filipino's collective spirit of patriotism and sacrifice.

"My vision is a nation of heroes. Isang bayang handang magsakripisyo at kayang ipaglaban ang Pilipino mula sa mga mang-aapi."

Along with military personnel, there are also sectors of OFW, media, and others who also showed their support for Querubin. He also shared that his title is "The Push Up Man," because of his ability to do a lot of push up showing his physical strength and stamina. This can also be interpreted that he is the man who can "push up" the nation with his reforms if given a chance to be one of the Senators of the republic.

A few months ago, we had the chance to chat with Col. Querubin who shared his personal life, his family, and his dogs which he trained very well. Now that he finally decided to take another shot in Politics, he vows to listen and bring change to solve the many problems of the nation.

Being one of the first to announce their candidacy, there are also questions on which alliance will he be part of, currently he is part of Nacionalista party and now got an endorsement of People's Reform Party by General Defensor (brother of the late Miriam Defensor-Santiago). And this announcement is just the start as there is still more time to form more alliances and support from more sectors and parties that can increase his chance for a Senate seat.
