The Boys Are Back, Nix Dave's Likely Wedding In “ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP”

One of the most successful family movie franchise, “Alvin and the Chipmunks” presents a new road to chip in the latest kiddie and family adventure movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip” bringing in a mix of the new and classic Chipmunks’ mischievous humor and heartwarming moments that fans adore about the franchise.

In the latest movie, “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip,”  Dave’s (Jason Lee) career as a musical artist manager has taken off, thanks to the Chipmunks.   He also has an exciting new client – a rising young pop star, named Ashley, played by actress/singer/author/model Bella Thorne (“My Own Worst Enemy,” “Shake It Up”).  Despite her popularity, Ashley has remained “sweet and down to earth,” says Thorne.  For example, she notes, “When we meet Ashley, she’s being stormed by paparazzi, but she makes sure that the ‘Munks aren’t trampled.”   Ashley also provides emotional and musical support to the ‘Munks when they reunite with Dave in Florida.

Everyone knows what it is like to be sort of the underdog...especially in high school.  In the teen movie “The Duff” based by author Kody Keplinger’s book of the same name, the relatable and of-the-moment stuff of growing up and the struggle to fit in is explored in “The Duff” that will open this April 15 in cinemas (Phils.).

“As everybody transitions from youth to adulthood you get into those private moments of sharing when you realize the universal message that everybody has their stuff – their insecurities, their feelings of DUFFness,” explains producer McG. “And to some degree we have a bit of that struggle our entire lives. That is why I think the movie will appeal to a broader audience than just girls and teens.”

Young adult New York Times bestseller “The Duff” (written by Kody Keplinger when she was 17 and was published when she turned 19) is now a major motion picture starring today’s young rising stars Mae Whitman, Bella Thorne, Skyler Samuels, Bianca Santos, Robbie Amell and Nick Eversman along with Ken Jeong.


“The Duff” finds Bianca (Mae Whitman) as a content high school senior whose world is shattered when she learns the student body refers to her as ‘The DUFF’ (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) to her prettier, more popular friends (Skyler Samuels and Bianca Santos). With her universe turned upside down, she ignores words of wisdom from her favorite teacher (Ken Jeong) and enlists Wesley (Robbie Amell), a slick but charming jock, to help set her apart from the pack and erase her label forever. In doing so, she hopes to land her crush Toby (Nick Eversman), and find the confidence to overthrow the school’s ruthless label maker Madison (Bella Thorne) by reminding everyone that no matter what people look or act like, we are all someone’s DUFF…and that’s totally fine.
