For director Darren Aronofsky, the chemistry between his two leads Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz in crime thriller Caught Stealing is electric. “Hank (Austin Butler) is madly in the throes of a new relationship with Yvonne (Zoë Kravitz),” says Aronofsky. “They have a very exciting passionate love affair that feels like it's about to get to a more serious place.”

She doesn’t do the best job, but she tries.”

Caught Stealing - Goons, Guns, and a Cat

Austin Butler makes a mainstream comeback with this action crime thriller Caught Stealing that also stars Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, and Vincent D'Onofrio. The characters show a diversity of race and personalities that gives color from the start. Austin indeed has that charisma even coming from obscure characters in past films now embraces his role as Hank.

The timeline for this movie goes back to the 90’s where there are still a lot of ways to get away with illegal things. This setting gives a lot of things to happen without the expectations of the present. The violence is brutal yet comical at some points. It also mirrors a reality that even simple individuals can get caught up to complicated crimes with one wrong decision.

Acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky is widely known for his dark dramas, like Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan. In Caught Stealing, Aronofsky presents a change in pace by making a movie that is “first and foremost fun—a movie that for two hours would fully distract and hold your attention, and while you’re at the theater, you have a great time.”

Aronofsky has been interested in working on the project for years, with the novel of the same name by Charlie Huston being the inspiration.  “I was so entertained and pumped by the book when I first read it 18 years ago,” he says. “Then a bunch of time passed, and Charlie tracked me down with an email out of the blue—they now controlled the book and had written a screenplay.”
