Evangeline Lilly is Hope Van Dyne in Marvel's "Ant-Man"‏

When Evangeline Lilly was first approached to lend her talents to the part of Hope van Dyne in Marvel’s “Ant-Man,” she admits that she needed to do some research to get up to speed on Marvel.

“I was not familiar with Marvel comics or Ant-Man when I was first approached about the part, so I had to do some homework,” says Lilly. “I watched some Marvel films because I was completely ignorant of the incredible things that they were doing. I discovered that they are very talented with story and character and they know how to put on a spectacle. Then, when I was doing screen tests, they started showing me pre vis material of Ant-Man and the ants in action. Once I saw it with my own eyes, I suddenly realized how cool this movie was going to be and that it’s going to be something that has not been seen at all in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s going to have its own life and its own fan base.”

REEL DEAL: Marvel Studios Unveils Phase 3 of Marvel Cinematic Universe

During a special event at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed the films that will make up Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featuring a mix of fan-favorite characters and several heroes who will be making their big-screen debuts.

The next two films to be released by Marvel are AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON on May 1, 2015, and ANT-MAN on July 17, 2015. Marvel Studios began principal photography today in San Francisco, California, on its newest Super Hero franchise Marvel's "Ant-Man." Filipino wrestling champion-turned-actor Dave Bautista takes on the role of Drax—a quiet yet physical brute, obsessed with avenging the death of his wife and child, in Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” (opening in the Philippines, July 31).

The casting of Drax was a tough one for the filmmakers, as executive producer Jeremy Latcham explains: “Drax is a complex character. It took about almost 4 years as it has been the most awaited movie with 5 movies to pave the way for its worldwide debut. The Avengers bring together the earth's mightiest heroes namely Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow and the S.H.I.E.L.D. led by Nick Fury. There is also a lot of pressure among the producers, writers and also the cast as this has been the movie everyone has been waiting this 2012.  It is also brings the biggest names like Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America,  Mark Ruffalo as Dr. Bruce Banner/ The Incredible Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Samuel L. The movie has exceeded my expectations and also happy to see the unlikely yet very entertaining characters. Also a great debut film for Hawkeye who has not have his own film. You will also get to know the secret organization S.H.I.E.L.D. and the people that runs the organization.  

I did enjoy the movies and each of them brought great anticipation for comic fans and non fans together, and even you might have never seen the previous films still makes every scene something to watch out for. And they have also been familiar to the public as the characters have been in comic books, TV series and also earlier movies that made their names familiar for generations.
