PETA Summer Workshop 2023 Brings In-Person Theater Learning Back

The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is back to offering its face-to-face summer theater workshops starting May 2023!

The year marks an important milestone for Philippine theater as this is the year stages reopened and live performances returned for Filipino audiences post-pandemic. As PETA celebrates its 56th year in the industry, and wraps up its last month of the successful and highly-anticipated run of its newest original musical, Rody Vera’s Walang Aray (a farcical adaptation of Severino Reyes’ class zarzuela Walang Sugat), we can expect more theater activities in store for everyone in the coming months!

Ignite Dance Company will soon start their 3rd Summer Dance Workshops. Whatever age or level you are in, there is a program designed for you.

For KIDS: a beginners module on introduction to dance that will teach the basic forms and movements in a child friendly approach. This will help them improve their physical activity, artistry, focus, and social interaction.

For TEENS: a basic to intermediate module on dance that will focus mainly on hip hop and its subcategories. This will help improve the students' vocabulary on dance. They will learn the basic forms, proper execution, and combinations. It will also help them  create choreography and perform freestyle.

Be Trained in the Chubbuck Acting Technique

Everyone loves to be an actor, even myself as I became a part of theater and hoping to get back on stage. And seeing a lot of actors and directors in TV and in real life makes me understand how this craft is no easy work and requires refinement and hard work.

Director Rahyan Carlos, one of the directors of ABS CBN movies and teleseryes have trained many artists under Star Magic, also trained people for acting workshops for more than 14 years and still continues to learn many things and techniques about the art of acting.
