Tom Hanks Plays the Shady Manager of "Elvis" Presley

Oscar-winner Tom Hanks stars as Elvis Presley’s enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker in Warner Bros.’  “Elvis,” an epic, big-screen spectacle from visionary, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Baz Luhrmann that explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler).

As told by Parker, the film delves into the complex dynamic between the two spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. 

“While this story is called ‘Elvis,’ it’s also Colonel Tom Parker’s story—the telling of it at least; he’s our way in, our narrator, and an unreliable one at that,” states writer/director/producer Baz Luhrmann, whose extensive research into the music icon Elvis aided in his discovery of the strange partnership behind the artist’s public success and personal struggles.  “As I like to say, Colonel Tom Parker was never a colonel, never a Tom, never a Parker, but a fascinating character all the same.  He was a carnival barker dedicated to finding that one great act.

"Elvis" Shakes Up Cannes With a 12-Minute Standing Ovation

The stars (led by Austin Butler and Tom Hanks) and filmmakers (led by director Baz Luhrmann) of Warner Bros.’ “Elvis” were out in full force at the movie’s gala premiere in Cannes Film Festival, where the film received a 12-minute standing ovation -- the longest at this year’s event.

With no air cover protection for 5 days, the captain and his convoy must battle the surrounding enemy Nazi U-boats in order to give the allies a chance to win the war. The film is directed by Aaron Schneider from a screenplay by Hanks.

Greyhound is directed by Aaron Schneider, screenplay by Tom Hanks based on the novel “The Good Shepherd” by C. S. Forester.  Produced by Gary Goetzman.

The film, starring Tom Hanks as Dr. Robert Langdon and directed by Ron Howard, will be released into IMAX® theatres worldwide (including the Philippines), coinciding with the film's general release date on October 12th.

Robert Langdon's Greatest Challenge Unravels in "Inferno"‏

Following up on the worldwide successes of “The Da Vinci Code” (2006) and “Angels & Demons” (2009) is Columbia Pictures' “Inferno,” the third highly anticipated adaptation in Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series of novels. “Inferno,” the latest addition in the $1.2 billion film franchise, was the best-selling adult book of 2013, proving that readers around the world can’t get enough of Robert Langdon.

Tom Hanks, who returns in one of his signature roles playing the quick-thinking and resourceful Langdon, explains the attraction. "There is something Dan Brown has figured out – everybody likes a good puzzle, especially one you can actually figure out the clues to one at a time and solve,” he says. “These movies give that to the audience – it is almost an interactive film, and it has been like that since The Da Vinci Code.”
