LAKBAYAN: It's More Fun In The Philippines!

2012 is indeed a year of the start of new things especially for the tourism industry in the country. No question, we have great places and things to do here and DOT recently launched the new tourism campaign It's More Fun In The Philippines. With the hashtag #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines trending in twitter world wide.
It does have this 'cool' factor connected with the slogan and is perfect with photos. However, there are still a dash of controversy with its similarity with the 1951 Switzerland poster with the slogan "It's More Fun in Switzerland". Others use the slogan and post them with pictures that contains negative propaganda and others with subliminal meanings. I admit to be surprized with the new logo but finally realized that there is no need to destabilize the campaign because we have not given it time to prove its effectiveness.

LAKBAYAN: Our BonPen Itinerary

BonPen Festival was a blast here in Quezon with the other bloggers, I have posted some of the pictures and videos on my facebook profile, yet I have to make more post about the things that we have done during the past 2 days here in Unisan and Pitogo. In case you were wondering these are the things that we went to during the festivities. We also had some sidetrips if schedule permits Now the festival has come to a close and were now resting before we go back to Manila (we did miss a lot of events). But it was really fun!

Here are the things that happened:

LAKBAYAN: Basta Pinas Biyahe Tayo!

Pinoys love to travel, and love to take photos and pasalubong. Though many would like to travel overseas, have we tried to roam around the country and see the many beauty and wonders one can find locally? The country is made us of 7, 107 islands which is waiting to be discovered by us. We all know that the usual places like Boracay and Puerto Galera draws a lot of tourists, but there are also places that are far more exciting yet few only would know.

1st International Agriculture and Tourism Expo (IATE)

Experience agriculture and tourism at its best at the much-awaited 1st International Agriculture and Tourism Expo (IATE) from June 30 to July 2, 2011 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
The first of its kind in the country, the 3-day expo offers an avenue for learning as it brings together world-class experts to conduct awareness campaigns and seminars on the latest agricultural and tourism innovations and trends in the global market.

“The potential of the Philippine economy to grow as a result of developing these two major industries: Agriculture and Tourism prompted the organization of this event. Mainly, the expo intends to make people aware of this knowledge and provide the necessary opportunities for learning, building partnerships, encouraging investments and promoting the Philippines as an agri-tourist destination,” said Kenneth Dong, president of A-Linx Events International, Inc., the official organizer of the IATE.

LAKBAYAN: CHEERS Tours in Lubao and Sasmuan Pampanga

I am not really a from Pampanga but I always want to go here because of its natural wonders and also the cuisine. When we were invited to an river cleanup event in Lubao, I was interested. Of course as a backpacker, going places is my thing. And to be in Pampanga specifically in Lubao and Sasmuan are towns that I have not explored in the province.
