MUSIC LYF: Lawson Announce new single & US rapper collaboration ‘Brokenhearted’ Featuring B.o.B

Lawson announced details of their brand new single ‘Brokenhearted’ which features US singer-songwriter/rapper B.o.B. The track, which was written by lead singer Andy Brown and recorded in London, will be released in the UK on July 7th.

On the track Andy said,

“Brokenhearted is definitely a bit of a turning point for us as a band. It’s my favourite song we have recorded to date. It was a dream to get B.o.B on the track. The whole band are huge fans of his. He really took the song to the next level and we had a great time shooting the video with him.”

The video for ‘Brokenhearted’ follows a mystery female in her mission to bury the memory of an ex, climaxing in a performance from the band and B.o.B at a private party in a luxury house in the Hollywood Hills. The video was directed by Declan Whitebloom.

REEL DEAL: Star Trek Into Darkness REVIEW

If you are a geek or sci-fi fan, you do know the Star Trek Universe. And for late bloomers and newbie fans like me, it would be hard to watch all of the episode of the series since they actually started way back in the 1970's which is also the era of the rise of Sci-fi movies. And Star Trek has made a mark, and even a culture among fans.

With the first Star Trek movie back in 2009, many people were hesitant that it can par with the series which made hardcore fans. Yet, it was a big hit and also got positive reviews from many. 

Thus the challenge of having a second movie gave more pressure to the cast and crew to create a movie that can at least equal the first movie. Was it successful? lets find out later.

For this film the story goes with the Star Fleet doing interplanetary missions with the crew of Jim, Spock, Scotty, Sulu, Ulura, Bones, and more. J. J. Abrams said in the preview that he loved the film when it was converted into IMAX. Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine as Jame Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock , Karl Urban as Bones, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Ulura and Benedict Cumberbatch as James Harrison.

ART IS A BANG: Manila Improv Festival 2013

Improv Theater is not new to the Philippines, rather it was seen as an alternative of the craft and    also a great way to improve theatrical creativity and response. However, there are a just a few number of Improv groups here in the Philippines but this number might change with the staging of the Manila Improv Festival this June.

I also am not familiar how Improv Theater works but on the press conference of the Manila Improv Festival, we got to experience this one of kind art in the front row, which is really entertaining and also gets the audience involved with the material. The event is spearheaded by Silly People’s Improv Theater (SPIT)

In celebration of its 11th year anniversary, the Silly People’s Improv Theater (SPIT) and the PETA Theater Center proudly present the Manila Improv Festival 2013 from June 25-30, 2103.
