"USS Indianapolis: Men Of Courage" In Troubled Waters At Philippine Sea

Based on true accounts of those who have survived during the waning days of World War II, the thrilling and inspiring “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage” tells of the Navy warship USS Indianapolis that secretly delivered one of two atomic bombs that would eventually end the war.

“USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage,” stars Nicolas Cage, Tom Sizemore, Thomas Jane, Matt Lanter, Brian Presley and Cody Walker and directed by Mario Van Peebles.  When the Japanese learned of the USS Indianapolis within reach, they attacked and sank the heavy cruiser.  The USS Indianapolis’ mission was so classified it was not reported missing, and no one knew the ship had been attacked until four days later. Stranded in the shark-infested waters of the Philippine Sea, the remaining survivors of the USS Indianapolis endured hunger, thirst, heat, delirium, relentless shark attacks and the death of many shipmates. Of the 1,197 crewmembers, nearly 300 went down with the ship. Five days later only 317 men survived and were eventually rescued.

Jennifer Garner Starts In Hartwarming Magical Family Movie “NINE LIVES”

Award-winning actress Jennifer Garner, who recently starred in the endearing faith-based movie “Miracles from Heaven” stars anew in “Nine Lives,” an inspiring magical family movie about a work-obsessed real-estate mogul who suffers a magical accident that leaves him trapped inside the body of a cat and realizes he has to put his family first if he ever hopes to regain his human form

“Nine Lives” also stars award-winning Kevin Spacey as Tom Brand who is undeniably successful, impossibly wealthy but is an unapologetic jerk. Striving to build the tallest skyscraper in the Northern Hemisphere, the daredevil billionaire will sacrifice anything — even the love of his family — to complete an architectural marvel nearly as gargantuan as his ego.   Tom’s workaholic lifestyle has alienated his long-suffering family, including his devoted wife Lara (Garner), neglected adult son David (Robbie Amell) and starved-for-attention young daughter Rebecca (Malina Weissman).

Rodrigo Santoro Feels Blessed to Play Jesus Christ in "Ben-Hur"‏

Brazilian superstar Rodrigo Santoro (“300,” “300: Rise of an Empire”) plays Jesus Christ, who crosses paths with the film's mortal hero, Ben-Hur (Jack Huston) in Paramount Pictures’ epic action adventure “Ben-Hur,” based on Lew Wallace’s timeless novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ.

(Watch the music video “Ceasefire” by King and Country for “Ben-Hur” at http://youtu.be/951JIuwxn94.)

Directed by Timur Bekmambetov (“Wanted”), the film is the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur, a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title and separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption.

“As soon as I met Rodrigo, it was clear he was the right actor,” recalls Bekmambetov. "He has a God-given talent - Rodrigo can play this spiritual figure while still coming across as the boy next door.”

"Rodrigo was a perfect choice to play Jesus," comments producer Roma Downey. "He’s got strength, kindness and depth."

REEL DEAL: The BFG

Another children's book by Roald Dahl is made into film just in time for his 100th Birthday this September.  The BFG, is now made into film like its "brothers" James and the Giant Peach, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The big adventure is set to open this August 10.

Though I not familiar with the book itself, Dahl's work is something I love for the diverse fantasies he incorporates in his stories and still linking it to the mortal world with a unique way to turning grim realities to a little lighter one. The BFG maybe takes a bigger bite of the real world with the involvement of the orphan girl into the land of the giants.

Though one might have to strangely adapt to the way giants talk, it would eventually sink in to viewers what they are trying to say. The movie is filled with colorful visuals that balances the dark and bland tones of the man-eating giants. Though there is a lot of explaining to do to kids who would be seeing this as it would make them question the real world.

Because fans of fear never tire of Asian Thrillers

Thrill the channel where Fear is Fun, is fast becoming the definitive source of heart stopping, terrifying entertainment.  In this year’s Asian Fear Fest, Fear gets frighteningly familiar in a way only Asian Horror movies can, with movies that feature seemingly everyday scenarios that most people can relate to, until things go horrible sideways in the most bizarre and frighteningly terrifying way!

With so many schools realigning their schedules we are now in the middle of what has to be the most confusing back to school “season” in recent memory.  As horrific and confusing a time as this is for students though, it could be much worse, schools are often old institutions, and their buildings are often witness to frightening things, especially at night, and no, as frightening as terror teachers can be, we aren’t talking about them.  You don’t believe us?  Check out the chilling possibilities of what could happen in a seemingly innocent dorm room in Under the Bed 2, the Asian Fear Fest’s opening offering from China which premiers August 4, Thursday, at 9pm.
