Director Kirill Sokolov had a blast working on his new movie “They Will Kill You.” The horror-action-comedy, which he wrote and directed, is produced by Andy Muschietti, acclaimed director of horror hits including “It,” “It Chapter Two” and “Mama,” and features an ensemble cast that includes Zazie Beetz (“Invincible”), Tom Felton, Heather Graham and Patricia Arquette. 

“There was a real situation that inspired me for this script,” says Sokolov in a new featurette for the movie. Ten years ago, he and wife rented an apartment in a building where everyone seemingly knew each other. The situation kicked his imagination into overdrive. “I wouldn’t be surprised if they came and take us and sacrifice us and maybe that’s how will they prolong their lives. After that, we just fast-forward to this movie.”

“Project Hail Mary” is the film adaptation of Andy Weir’s (The Martian) hit sci-fi novel of the same name. The film is helmed by duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller as producers and director. “Project Hail Mary” stars Ryan Gosling as science teacher Ryland Grace, who awakes on a seemingly empty spacecraft with no memories of himself and why he is in deep space. As Grace regains his memories, he remembers his mission: to figure out how to stop an alien lifeform from cooling down the sun.
