The ultimate sonic playground for the summer

Get ready for one surreal summer experience as Karpos Multimedia Inc. proudly presents Wanderland, an annual outdoor music and arts festival with sights, sounds and a little something extra. Slated to rock music-loving Manila on May 18, 2013, this whole-day event is the first of its kind in the Philippines and will be the first major concert at the new Globe Circuit Events Ground in Makati.

Wanderland makes its scorching debut this summer by bringing together the hottest indie pop and indie rock bands and up-and-comers, both foreign and local, all on one stage. REEL DEAL: Bayang Magiliw REVIEW

Indie Movies were originally made to push advocacy, but with many of the "Indies" going mainstream and becomes a mix with the commercial films, you may wonder where are the original advocacy films. This is what the pro-RH movie BAYANG MAGILIW is all about. To tell you honestly, I'm not really a RH advocate and thought that the movie was a musical, but it gives a justified portrayal of issue revolving about the controversial bill.

Bayang Magiliw tells the story of a town in Quezon called Magiliw where Reproductive Health is considered a serious crime. Magiliw is the country’s most densely populated city next to Metro Manila. It is headed by a mayor who is secretly a womanizer and has already fathered a lot of illegitimate children.

Two incidents cause a chain of events that will rock Magiliw. One day an old aristocratic couple from Magiliw finds an abandoned baby boy and decided to nurture him. Their daughter, a corporate lawyer based in Manila adopted the abandoned baby boy. Later on, trouble ensues after the mayor found out that the baby boy is his illegitimate child. The other incident involves a local OB-gyne who was sent to jail for prescribing contraceptives to the women of Magiliw. Not long enough, the doctor meets the corporate lawyer and together they fought against the mayor.

DSWD, DepEd: ‘No child will be left behind’

Every child in the Philippines will now have the chance to be schooled.

This is the vision of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of Education (DepEd) as they launch Kariton Klasrum with the theme “Katropa, Edukasyon at Kalusugan Mo’y Sagot ko! Sakay na sa Kariton ng Pagbabago!” today in Ultra Sports Complex, Pasig City.

More than 200 children will be attending the said event to celebrate the start of the drive and to witness the symbolic signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between DSWD and DepEd.

As an alternative delivery mode of education, Kariton Klasrum aims to reach street families and out-of-school children who are beneficiaries of the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT), an offshoot of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, a human development program of the national government.
