Blah Blah Blogs: Trial by Storms

I don't know but sometimes the best wisdom comes out when we are our lowest point. And in today very surreal weather that they say have surpassed Ondoy in terms of damage and coverage has made us very weary and afraid. I am afraid too, not only for my self but also for my family who lives up north, my relatives in Pasig and Quezon City and all my friends from all parts of the Metro who have also experience the same heavy downpour.

We were very lucky back in Ondoy as we live 4 storeys up in a uphill part of Sampaloc-Sta Mesa. But still it was really gruesome to see the aftermath of the storm. Mud all around, the smell of stench that remained on the street for days and also the sad news of the people who died. As much as we don't want that to happen again, we cannot dictate nature. Earth has been formed with powerful storms and earthquakes which make me realize that what we humans are still at her mercy. To us to survive, we must still do a lot of work.

REEL DEAL: The Bourne Legacy REVIEW

The long wait of Filipinos (especially action fans) is over, after many inconveniences with traffic with the supervision of the MMDA, The Bourne Legacy will be shown in theaters this August 8. A spin off from the very successful and acclaimed Bourne Series (Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum), the movie now tells the story of another agent similar to Jason Bourne, Aaron Cross.

The movie goes on a world tour to many countries, not just the Philippines. From the cold mountains of Canada, to many Asian cities  showing the string theory of events that eventually lead to the crossroads of the meltdown of the program and its agents. Rachel Weisz, plays the beautiful doctor who accompanies  Aaron to travel to the other side of the world to Manila.

Of course, Pinoys who were part of this movie take pride of making this happen. And the view of Manila was really cool, for a true blue Manilan like me. The chase scene in the city was something really surreal to think that I also walked at those places. Also its my first time to see a Jeepney at a chase with passengers and falling moments. It also makes me think that Manila can be a place for parkour... perhaps? And El Nido is just... wow!

LONDON 2012: Medal Count - August 6

Here are the medal count for today as of 9:00 AM (Manila Time). The London Olympics started on July 27 and will end on August 12, 2012. Sad news for the Philippine team as Mark Barringa lost to his Kazakh opponent in the top 16, which they even filed a complaint about the scoring however it was denied, our only hope of a medal lie with athletics and bmx. We do hope and pray that they would also make that break to excel in those sports and bring honor to the country. Now back in medal tally, China still leads with 29 golds, 16 silvers and 14 bronze medals followed by USA (27 Gold, 14 Silver, 15 Bronze), host country Great Britain (16 Golds, 10 Silvers, 10 Bronze), Republic of Korea (10 Gold, 4 Silver, 6 Bronze), and  France (8 Gold, 7 Silver, 9 Bronze).
