Captain Marvel - Did It Soar To Expectations?

For a movie that will headline a marvel Heroine, Captain Marvel faces a lot of high expectations and even comparing it to DC's Wonder Woman. Also as it comes before the upcoming Endgame movie this April, it seems that these are the biggest challenge Carol Danvers has to face aside from her enemies in the film.

Captain Marvel is indeed an origin movie that dates back to the 90's, one of the few films in the MCU which goes back in time like Captain America The First Avenger. Though this one is much more recent and key characters like Nick Fury and Agent Coulson appears in their more younger years.

Brie Larson takes on the character which involves the space beings like the Kree and Skrulls. Closely linked to Guardians of the Galaxy, the conflict goes  to Earth as Vers (Captain Marvel) was led to Earth to find a essential person that will reveal his past.

The film comes late in the MCU that despite the flair and power she possess, it seems like it was not exceptional in terms of innovation like Black Panther. But the story is essential in building the MCU with the plot and connections it has with the heroes, villains, and the infinity stones leading to Endgame.

MARIA - Deadly, Brutal, Violent, And We Love It!

I love that action films are getting a revival like Buybust, and I think it is time that they will push Philippine cinema further. I was excited to know that Viva Films will be offering another action movie with Maria. Directed by Pedring Lopez and stars Cristine Reyes, and co-production with BlackOps Studios Asia and Psyops8.

Though its simple name for a title, it has an interesting story that leads to a complicated and gritty network of violence. Maria is a revenge story of an assassin who is out for blood when her family gets caught in a war that involves politics and drugs. But she does not do revenge peacefully, because of her past she is built to fight and it will get really violent.

It was a wise choice to have Cristine Reyes to play Maria because she is into martial arts, fitness, and also a mother. Features that makes her fit to do the strenuous work needed to do as she fights her way to all her enemies.

Gelli de Belen and Bayani Agbayani Team Up in Pansamantagal

Gelli de Belen and Bayani Agbayani topbill the romantic comedy film Pansamantagal which opens in theaters starting March 20. The feel-good story was shot in a scenic coastal landscape.

Gelli only has good words for Bayani. “I enjoyed shooting the movie with Bayani. There was never a dull moment while making Pansamantagal. Bayani lives up to his name. He is a comic hero. Kahit pagod na ang lahat after a day’s work, may energy pa rin siya to lighten up the mood with his jokes. Chill lang siya during our shootings. That is why working with him was a breeze.”

Meanwhile, Bayani invites the public to watch their latest movie. “Inaanyayahan ko kayong lahat na manood ng Pansamantagal. Ito ang pelikulang magpapakilig at magpapatawa sa inyo ng sabay. Kapag nanood kayo, sinisiguro ko na ang pansamantalang katatawanan na hatid ng tandem namin ni Gelli ay magtatagal sa inyong alaala. Magaang katrabaho si Gelli dahil madali siyang kabatuhan ng mga linya.”

On the second year of the global #Connect2Earth theme of Earth Hour that calls for the urgent need to care for the Earth’s biological diversity, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines continues to focus on the issue of single-use plastics and how addressing it can help reverse the loss of nature.

The Clash Boys Ready To Prove Their Worth

After months since The Clash was finished, three alumni of the show are now ready to prove their prowess to the world with their music. Jong Madaliday, Garrett Bolden, and Anthony Rosaldo belong to the Top 6 and has been part of many events and also part of Studio 7. But they like to show more of their musicality beyond the reality show/

It is no doubt that all of them have the talent as performers, yet they would grow further as individuals with songs that they can make it their own. They have launched their debut singles under GMA Music.
