The finish line is in sight for the 38th National MILO Marathon as runners of all ages gear up for a heated grand finale in the National Finals, to be held on December 7 at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds. A grand prize of P300,000 in cash, a trophy, and a chance to compete in an international marathon is up for grabs for the National MILO Marathon King and Queen bets from across the nation.

Reigning MILO Marathon King and Queen Eduardo Buenavista and Mary Joy Tabal are focused on their training as they prepare to face fellow elite runners Eric Panique, Christabel Martes, Anthony Nerza and Philip Dueñas, among others, in the esteemed international race event.

A couple of years ago, I-Witness showed the world the heartwrenching documentary about patients admitted to the burn unit of Davao City Medical Center, the only hospital catering to burn victims in all of Mindanao.

As part of I-Witness’ 15th anniversary, Jay Taruc and his team go back to the place where pain and tears are synonymous with healing.

Quite a lot has happened in two years. The burn unit has been renamed “Rizal D. Aportadera, Jr. Burn Center” to honor the name of the doctor whose efforts and sacrifice were instrumental in saving the lives of burn patients.

Academy Award winner Christian Bale, widely known for his unforgettable portrayal as Batman aka Bruce Wayne in “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises” once again puts on his heroic garb in the staggering biblical epic ever  to be produced in Ridley Scott’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings.”

Filmed in 3D, Scott’s film will tell the extraordinary story of Moses. Abandoned by a desperate mother as a baby after the Egyptian rulers order the murder of all boys born to slaves, he is found in the bulrushes by the Pharaoh’s daughter and raised in the royal household, where he grows up alongside Ramses (Joel Edgerton), the future monarch.   As a man, Moses has a vision from God and turns his back on his privileged life and leads his people, the Israelites, from enslavement. Scott’s film will feature ground-breaking special effects, to visualise some of the more fantastic elements of the story including the plagues visited upon Egypt and the parting of the Red Sea.

The world’s most charming bachelor, Captain America as he is now widely known, Chris Evans is a non-believer in love in this year’s most endearing love story, “Playing it Cool,” until he meets his match in Michelle Monaghan.


In this romantic comedy, Evans is a writer tasked by his publisher to pen a romantic novel first prior pursuing his action-packed book.  Known as the Narrator (Evans), was having problems writing the romantic novel until he met Monaghan’s character known as Her only to find out that she is already engaged to Stuffy (Ioan Gruffudd).  With a little help from friends with different perspectives on the subject of love (Anthony Mackie, Aubrey Plaza, Luke Wilson and Topher Grace), Evans’ character attempts to stay just friends, but finds himself wanting more.

The highly-successful worldwide release of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” that opened pre-Thanksgiving celebration (U.S.) topped the festive mood of the holidays with a $14.5million on its opening day and continued soar over all at the box-office throughout its first and second  weekends that has earned$225 million to-date. Variety’s report states that overseas, “Mockingjay” is also turning in an impressive performance and should hit around $195 million internationally — topping the total of last year’s “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” at the same point.
