Convergys PH “Give A Bag of Hope” Gains A Gold Anvil

Convergys Philippines won a  Gold Anvil for its employee-driven philanthropy called “Give A Bag of Hope” (GABOH) Year 3, at the recently held 53rd Anvil Awards. It is the 2nd consecutive year for the company to be recognized in the category “Public Relations Program on a Sustained Basis – Community Development.”

On GABOH’s 3rd year in 2017, more than 42,000 employees from Convergys’ 34 sites nationwide came together to donate a portion of their own salaries, raising Php 18 Million in 3 months, and generating 35,000 bags complete with books and school supplies as a result.  The employees also distributed the bags to schoolkids in over 30 partner public schools and communities across the country.

That same year, Convergys further extended GABOH’s impact by partnering with social enterprises Bag943 and Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, providing livelihood to disadvantaged individuals. Bag943 workers produced the bags, while Tahanang Walang Hagdanan’s persons-with-disabilities (PWDs) produced pencil cases and packed the bags with assorted school supplies.

Rampage - Wrecking Its Own Destruction

Big  does not always means better.

We know that size matters but depending on what is big. Definitely if you have animals that are almost the size of Godzilla on the loose, there should be something that they can destroy. That is why we have Rampage.

Based on the computer game, which the main objective - go berserk and destroy all things in its path. Had made its way to its own Hollywood version and starring the highest paid actor of recent years, Dwayne Johnson.

We have seen him recently in Jumanji and having another movie with him headlining again confuses us if this is San Andreas meets King Kong. And it seems we will always see him in roles that is tied to the military or the police because of his appearance.

Well the film in summary is about animals exposed to a gene altering serum which makes them ginormous and out to make rampage on a city. The challenge is how to stop them comes at the cost with many weapons and property damage.

Avengers:Infinity War Cast Surprised Us On Marvel Fans Day!

It was supposed to be a regular Marvel fans day for the anticipation of Avengers: Infinity War at SM Cinema in Megamall, but it turned out to be more epic than that. We were  usually expecting to have a day of cosplay, giveaways, prizes and some trailers. But we were treated to something more that shocked us.

But before the revelation, there was also a moment for great cosplayers who nailed it in their costume bringing to life their favorite characters in the MCU. Impressive and notable cosplayers for me include Iron Man, Rocket Raccoon, Baby Groot, Proxima Midnight and of course, Thanos. Giveaways were also a win with many merchandise from partnered brands like Goldilocks, Folded and Hung, Alaska, and GMovies.
