Mary Poppins Returns - Musical and Whimsical Start Of The Year

It's 2019 and we are very excited for the great line up of movies that will shown in theaters and for the new set of movies that will make this year epic, and what better way to start is with a anticipated and feel good movie by Walt Disney, Mary Poppins Returns. A long-awaited sequel of the 1964 movie Mary Poppins which was starred by Julie Andrews, amd Dick Van Dyke.

Mary Poppins back then was a breakthrough in the film industry with an amazing integration of live action plus animation which defined the film. This has been replicated with an updated technological features of this generation. Since its has been over 50 years since the first movie, some of the original cast has also made some cameos in the film like Dick Van Dyke and Karen Dotrice.

Stepping in the shoes of Julie Andrews as the magical nanny Mary Poppins, Emily Blunt shows her elegance, grace, and playfulness with the role. Given that the movie will have a lot of dancing, singing, and interactions, she really embraces the character which is nostalgia to the viewers who have watched the first one.

Even if you have not seen the first one, it stands on its own and seeing the first one would be trivial and added nostalgia. But both have proved to tickle the imagination of its viewers with lush animations, colorful characters, fun details, and catchy music. The list of songs are a lot, so thank God for music streaming sites.

Mary Poppins Returns stars Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Dick Van Dyke, Angela Lansbury, Colin Firth, and Meryl Streep.  Directed by Rob Marshall, now showing in cinemas.

Special thanks to Evia Lifestyle Center in Daanghari Alabang where we saw the film in their VIP Cinema which has comfortable reclining seats, nice projection screen, Dolby Surround Sound and even has a blanket if you feel a little cold. They also have the first IMAX with Laser in Southeast Asia along with their cinemas which is perfect for people located south of Metro Manila.

Deliberation time kids!
