"Station 19's" Grey Damon Stars in "The Possession of Hannah Grace" (Now Playing)

Despite the horror Shay Mitchell’s character Megan Reed goes through in Columbia Pictures’ The Possession of Hannah Grace, she has allies who are willing to put themselves in danger to help her. One of the most willing is her cop ex-boyfriend Andrew, played by fast-rising star Grey Damon (Station 19, Friday Night Lights, The Flash).

Despite their estrangement, Andrew still cares deeply about Megan and worries that the morgue Megan works in isn’t a safe space for someone wrestling with overcoming addiction. “I think that Andrew is the voice of reason the little angel on Megan’s shoulder, her conscience,” says Damon. “Even though Megan is really messed up right now, Andrew knows that she faced this major tragedy and is trying to get her life back in order.”

In the film, Megan is attempting to get her life back on track after failing to prevent her police officer partner’s murder and turning to drugs and alcohol to manage her grief. Working the graveyard shift at the morgue in the Boston hospital where she got sober, Megan finds an unlikely peace in the extreme solitude of the cavernous facility. But one night, after she takes delivery of a horribly disfigured body, things begin to change.

“Grey Damon is a tremendous actor,” says Mitchell of her costar. “As Megan’s former boyfriend, he’s the one who believes in her, who was there before her life went awry. He is still there for her, and he is probably still in love with her. It’s really a push-pull relationship with Andrew who is so strong and confident and healthy. Megan obviously loves and cares for him, but she doesn’t want him around because he reminds her of what could have been. But she does enlist in his help when the mystery starts growing.”

Damon was also impressed by Mitchell. “She’s just a badass,” he says of the film’s lead actress. “She brings a real rawness to Megan. It’s cool to see her in this tough role.”

Now playing in Philippine cinemas nationwide, The Possession of Hannah Grace is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.  Use the hashtag #PossessionMovie
