Arjo Atayde Explores New New Genres With Love and Comedy

From his big break with FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as Joaquin, Arjo Atayde’s roles were usually linked to action and drama. He is the antagonist in Erik Matti’s “Buybust,” and now channels a mentally challenged man in “The General’s Daughter. But he also reinvented himself this year with new projects totally different from antagonistic characters.

He recently teamed up with Joross Gamboa, Ketchup Eusebio, and Jessy Mendiola for the Romantic-Comedy Tol, a story of three friends who fell in love with the same girl which caused tensions between them. Here Arjo fan now utilise his natural charm as the boy-next-door to win in the love game.

I have to say that though he was scary with his villain roles before, he can easily switch to a mild and funny guy which proves his versatility as an actor.

He will also have another movie later this year again with Jessy Mendiola with Regal Entertainment’s Stranded, which is about two people who got locked inside a mall during a typhoon. Their pair up is indeed interesting since their management are testing the chemistry of the two.

But more importantly, it is another year witha new look for Arjo Atayde. As he proves himself with more diverse projects, there are still a lot things he can do and probably win him acting awards for this year.
