PETA Makes Its Workshop Program For Kids And teens Available Online This Summer

This summer, PETA is not letting distance get in the way of giving kids and teens an invigorating way to explore their creative interests and talents. Dedicated to continuing its annual summer program, PETA is offering its summer workshop through its online platform to make for a productive summer for young aspiring artists despite the ongoing quarantine.

With five (5) courses to be conducted on Zoom, this year’s summer workshop will engage kids and teens in an interactive, fun-filled virtual atmosphere that will make each class a meaningful experience. Opening on May 24, parents may enroll their children ages 7 to 17 years old in any one of these courses:

Children’s Theater is for kids ages 7 to 12 and will focus on nourishing the creative spirit in children. Each activity will help build each child’s confidence by immersing them in rhythmic movements, dance, singing, games, painting, and puppetry. They will also have the opportunity to work on collaborating with others through role-playing and storytelling exercises. Not only is this workshop a great platform for kids to express their artistic potential and nourish their creativity, it can also serve as a wonderful opportunity to meet and make new friends.

Acting for Teens is offered to budding actors ages 13 to 17. This course will teach the fundamentals of acting through an intimate online workshop carefully crafted for beginners. Participants can expect to discover the art of channeling emotions and using body language to create a sincere and engaging performance.

Musical Theater for Teens is for teens who want to develop their musical performance skills. Activities will highlight the connections between body, music, and storytelling, helping each participant improve upon their musicality by interpreting pieces effectively.

Writing for Performance - Teens is offered to young, aspiring writers. This introductory course is aimed at helping teens navigate the challenges of writing performative pieces. More than lessons on the rudiments of writing, participants will be engaged in writing exercises that will help free them of creative blocks as well as empower them as young writers.

With safety and health precautions remaining to be a priority for everyone this 2021, an online avenue for artistic expression and exploration may just be the spark of inspiration kids and teenagers need to start or refresh their creative journey this summer. That being so, PETA is hosting a giveaway of two (2) slots to two eligible participants. Now anyone ages 7-17 years old can get a chance to join this year’s summer program completely free of charge! Interested parents/individuals can join via PETA’s instagram page @petaworkshops.
