World Vision’s Noche Buena Campaign Shares the Joy of Christmas to the Most Vulnerable Children

World Vision is once again bringing the holiday spirit to our most vulnerable children and their families as it continues its annual Christmas tradition with the Noche Buena campaign.

Since 2006, Christmas has been celebrated by World Vision’s supported children and their community with joyful memories of the generosity of sponsors and donors through the annual distribution of Noche Buena gifts.

But due to the adverse impacts of the pandemic, many families were forced to face heavy financial burdens due to quarantine restrictions and scarcity or loss of jobs.

According to the COVID-19 assessment report conducted by World Vision, 16.7% or 4.2 million Filipino families experienced involuntary hunger or hunger due to lack of food since the early days of the pandemic.

A lot of our most vulnerable children also struggle in coping with the current situation, especially with some of them having to face serious issues such as lack of education, stress, abuse, and trafficking during this challenging period.

With this, World Vision continues its helping hand to bring joy and happiness to children, their families and communities, in this year’s “Noche Buena” campaign by providing them a Christmas gift comprised of ingredients for spaghetti and fruit salad with canned goods and juice for the entire family.

For every donation of P1000, two (2) children and their families will feel the joy of celebrating the true meaning of Christmas. More than the meal, these children will experience the love of Jesus through your generosity.

World Vision ambassadors Nikki Gil and Tintin Bersola-Babao join the cause by extending their support for this year’s “Noche Buena” campaign. With their shared advocacies on providing joy and warmth to children, they aim to reach out to more individuals in need of support this Christmas season.

“The pandemic has made it challenging for us grown-ups to keep hope afloat. And the harsh lockdowns have visibly taken its toll on the children’s mental health. But every year we look forward to Christmas, with the hope and a prayer that the days to come will be better than the last. I invite you to join World Vision’s initiative to make sure that Filipino families are still able to celebrate a merry Noche Buena,” shares Ms. Nikki Gil.

“Despite recent challenges, we can still make this holiday season memorable for our most vulnerable children and their families. Hopeful and inspired to help World Vision in their ‘Noche Buena’ campaign this year,” says Ms. Tintin Bersola-Babao.

Since World Vision started its “Noche Buena” campaign, thousands of sponsors and donors have been bringing joy to more than 33,000 Filipino homes every Christmas with a simple Noche Buena gift.

“Amid challenges, Christmas remains a strong reminder of how great God's love is for all of us. He gifted us hope through Jesus. May we all be inspired to help usher the joy of this season to children with the Noche Buena Campaign," shared Rommel Fuerte, World Vision’s National Director.
