The cast and filmmakers of Karate Kid: Legends turn up in the black carpet premiere held in the SVA Theatre in New York. Fans, dressed up in their Karate Kid gear, got a chance to take pictures with the actors, with Jackie Chan bringing his stuffed panda plushies for the pictures. Action also hit the black carpet as martial artists in different disciplines provided a powerful demonstration in front of the crowd.

Martial arts fighter Li Fong (Ben Wang) has more than legends Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) to guide his training. Also behind the kung-fu prodigy is family, and friends discovered along his new journey in New York City, in the newest addition to the iconic franchise, Karate Kid: Legends.

In Karate Kid: Legends Li Fong finds a new home in New York City with his mother, Dr. Fong (Ming-Na Wen), moving across continents from Beijing. Finding himself clashing with the local karate champion, he turns to his uncle Mr. Han for guidance, who enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso. Merging both karate and kung-fu, the two trainers prepare Li Fong for the ultimate martial arts showdown, and behind Fong’s back is his new friend Mia (Sadie Stanley), retired boxer Victor (Joshua Jackson), and his SAT tutor Alan (Wyatt Oleff).

A worldwide search was on for the actor who will take on the mantle of Karate Kid for Karate Kid: Legends, and producer Karen Rosenfelt felt that Ben Wang was the perfect fit for the role. “It’s always like threading a needle when you're looking for the center of a film,” she says. “I couldn't be happier with Ben. He’s exactly what I saw in my mind. I think he’s the Marty McFly of our generation. He’s so talented—he performed most of his own stunts—and I think he’s got an amazing career ahead of him.”

With a karate tournament looming, his kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) enlists the help of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) to help Li understand a new fighting discipline.

Disney+ Debuts Official Trailer For The Action-Comedy Original Series "American Born Chinese"

Disney+ revealed the official trailer for the upcoming Original series “American Born Chinese.” The genre-hopping action-comedy series premieres with all eight episodes on May 24, only on Disney+. The Disney Branded Television series is produced by 20th Television. 

Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Gene Luen Yang, "American Born Chinese" chronicles the trials and tribulations of a regular American teenager whose life is forever changed when he befriends the son of a mythological god. This is the story of a young man’s battle for his own identity, told through family, comedy, and action-packed Kung-Fu.

The coming-of-age adventure features an all-star international cast, including Academy® Award winners Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Ben Wang ("Chang Can Dunk"), International Emmy(R) Award Nominee Yeo Yann Yann ("Wet Season"), Chin Han ("Mortal Kombat"), Daniel Wu ("Reminiscence"), former Taekwondo champion Jimmy Liu and Sydney Taylor ("Just Add Magic"). 

Disney+ Sets May 24 Premiere Date For Highly Anticipated Original Series "American Born Chinese"

Today, Disney+ revealed the May 24 premiere date for the Disney+ Original series “American Born Chinese,” a genre-hopping action-comedy from Disney Branded Television series produced by 20th Television.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Gene Luen Yang, "American Born Chinese" tells the story of Jin Wang, an average teenager juggling his high school social life with his home life. When he meets a new foreign student on the first day of the school year, even more worlds collide as Jin is unwittingly entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods.
