TV5 Brings The Crown and Gloves Together with BEKI BOXER

TV5 has showcased interesting new shows lately and it still on a roll with innovative new plots for Philippine television. Now it will end March with a blow as it premieres its newest primetime series Beki Boxer this March 31.

The new series will be the biggest break for Kapatid actor Alwyn Uytingco, as he does action-packed boxing and with witty gay comedy in this show. Alwyn has done gay roles in the past and has went into training to get himself in shape for the role. There is an interesting mix of boxers and bekis  in the show which will either be entertainingly funny or 'nakakalerkey' crazy.

It would be interesting if there will be cameos or they will feature world class pinoy boxers and/or gay athletes also which is also timely as recently there are news about boxers or other athletes who came out.

The combination of Pinoy's love for the sport of Boxing and the Gay comedy which is loved by the public shows its potential to be a hit to the viewers. The series is directed by Jade Castro who directed Zombadings Part 1: Patayin Sa Shyokot Si Remmington.

Hiram na Puso is a heart-warming story of a loving mother, who takes all risks to save her daughter from death only to be abandoned by the same daughter after she literally had a change of heart.  Soon, the said mother realizes that this is the dire consequence of one irreversible mistake she committed in the past.

Starring Kris Bernal, Mark Herras, Polo Ravales, Bela Padilla with Gardo Versoza, Ayen Laurel, Candy Pangilinan, Ana Marin, Marc Acueza, Wynwyn Marquez and Ms. Gina Alajar, Hiram na Puso is a creatively-crafted drama series that will boldly pique every viewer’s conscience, pitting the ends versus the means, malice versus the motive.

Gina Alajar plays the role of Zeny, a nursing student whose life gets complicated when she gets impregnated by her boyfriend who subsequently leaves her.  She gives birth to twins, but unfortunately one of them had a heart complication and needed immediate operation.  But Zeny couldn’t afford the cost of the operation, and so, she was left without a choice but to give up the healthier baby so she can save the ailing one.  The ailing child survived and Zeny  named her “Lira” (Kris Bernal).

JUAN MINUTE SPOTLIGHT: Sweet, final quarter for Candy

CANDY Pangilinan opens the final quarter of 2011 with a series of exciting new projects as headlined by two television series with the fast-rising TV-5 Kapatid network. Candy is currently part of the television adaptation of the classic 1980s teen film Bagets under the direction of Mark Reyes. On Bagets, Candy plays a single mom who has three bi-racial children: a Filipino-Japanese, a Filipino-Korean, and an Afro-Asian. “The role is quite challenging for me since I had to learn a bit of Japanese and Korean plus the verbal inflections and accent of an Afro-Asian as part of my preparation for the character I’m portraying on the series,” explains Candy.

Bagets, which airs on TV-5 Sundays at 3 p.m. after Paparazzi, is Candy’s first television project with the Kapatid network. “I’m thrilled to work with several old friends whom I haven’t seen and worked with for quite some time and I’m also excited to make new friends with TV-5. I’m sure that there are so many wonderful things that I could learn from them and I’m also very eager to share what I know especially with the young people whom I am working with on Bagets.”
