HBO renews House of the Dragon for a Third Season

The HBO Original drama series House of the Dragon has been renewed for a third season, ahead of the launch of the second season debuting Monday, June 17 on HBO and HBO GO.  

Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen. 

House of the Dragon Season Two stars Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Matthew Needham, Sonoya Mizuno, Tom Glynn-Carney, Ewan Mitchell, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban and Jefferson Hall. The eight-episode second season of the HBO Original drama series House of the Dragon debuts Monday, June 17 on HBO and HBO GO.

Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series & Films, debuted HBO’s first-ever “dueling” trailers at Series Mania in Lille, France on Thursday, March 21 as part of WBD's announcement that Max will launch in Europe from May 21.

Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively.
