PDRF mobilizes private sector to deliver aid to Ulysses-torn Cagayan

The Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) and its private sector partners, as well as representatives from the United Nations, Germany, and the Netherlands, recently travelled to Tuguegarao City to oversee the delivery, packing, and distribution of relief items. PDRF is under the shared leadership of Manuel V Pangilinan, Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala,and Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle (Prefect for the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples).  

This mission included the Ambassador of the Netherlands H.E. Saskia de Lang, the Ambassador of Germany H.E. Anker Reiffenstuel, the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator Gustavo Gonzalez, PDRF President Butch Meily, PDRF Executive Director Veronica Gabaldon, AirAsia Chief Finance Officer Ray Berja, Mayor of Tuguegarao City Jefferson Soriano, OCD Region II Director Harold Cabreros, Dr. Teofredo Esguerra of Wilderness Search and Rescue Philippines, Iliac Diaz of Liter of Light, and representatives from Aboitiz Foundation. 

MVP Group ramps up relief efforts to areas hit by Typhoon Rolly

The companies and foundations under the leadership of Manuel V Pangilinan recently reached out to communities and survivors of Typhoon Rolly (international name: Goni) by providing immediate relief assistance.  

“We have mobilized the Group’s Foundations to do relief and medical work in the wake of Typhoon Rolly. Our restoration teams are in place and have started doing remediation work already. We will fix this,” Pangilinan said.    

“Our Alagang Kapatid (TV5) teams are in Quezon and Camarines already. Teams will also be sent to Albay and Marinduque. Immediate relief assistance on behalf of our Group Foundations is given to areas severely affected by the typhoon,” Pangilinan added.  

'No learner left behind' MVP leads School-in-a-Bag turnover

PLDT Chairman and CEO Manuel V Pangilinan, who is also known as MVP, recently marked his birthday through various activities that aim to help schools prepare to reopen classes. 

MVP led the turnover of the School-in-a-bag (SIAB) donation to North Bay Boulevard North Elementary School in Navotas, Metro Manila. The SIAB donation forms part of the $50K grant from Huawei Technologies Philippines, Inc. to the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF).
