Skateboarder Margielyn Didal’s New Training Leading Up To 2019 SEA Games

Twenty-year-old professional skateboarder and newly announced Red Bull Athlete, Margielyn Didal, is ready for the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held in the Philippines this December.

To prepare for her upcoming competitions, Didal underwent months of therapy at Cardia Olympia coupled with an intense assessment last July at the Red Bull High Performance Training Center in Santa Monica, California to address lingering injuries.

“Last December 2014, I had a very severe ankle sprain that didn’t seem to get better,” reveals Didal. “Until recently, it affected my skating because I kept thinking it might happen again.”

Phenom and Team Gilas Women’s Crowned Red Bull Reign Philippine Champions

Two Philippine Champions emerged victorious at the Red Bull Reign Finals on Saturday, June 29th, 2019, at Kerry Sports Manila in Bonifacio Global City: Men’s Champions Phenom and Women’s Champions Team Gilas Women’s. Both teams advance to the Red Bull Reign Global Finals in Toronto, Canada, this August where they will represent the Philippines against 15 other nations from around the globe.

On its third consecutive year as a nation-wide competition, the event will pit teams from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to square off at the Philippine Finals, on Saturday, June 29th, 2019 at the High Street Amphitheater in Bonifacio Global City. The winning team advances to the Global Finals this August in Toronto, Canada!

Australia’s defending women’s champion Rhiannan Iffland, cliff diving legend Orlando Duque from Colombia, and Filipino-Australian wildcard Xantheia Pennisi, got a first taste of what is sure to be a highly competitive and thrilling start to the new season during their sunset dive from the phenomenal rock formation at Tres Marias Islands.

Red Bull Cliff Diving Champions Embark on Diving Safari in South Africa

On the lead up to the upcoming Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series – Season 11 kick-off in El Nido, Palawan, World Series Champions Rhiannan Iffland (AUS) and Gary Hunt (GBR) have embarked on a cliff diving safari in South Africa.

The record-breaking duo, Iffland and Hunt, scouted a number of locations that included majestic cataract falls and what is regarded as the greenest canyon on Earth at the Drakensberg escarpment in eastern Mpumalanga, South Africa. Iffland and Hunt found themselves particularly taken by Bourke’s Luck Potholes as an untouched diving spot.

Red Bull Music 3Style is Back to Crown its 5th Philippine Representative

Red Bull Music 3Style is back in the Philippines for its fifth year as a nationwide tournament. The National Finals brings five (5) of the country’s top DJ’s to battle it out for a spot in the World Finals at Xylo at the Palace, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, on Saturday, November 17th, 2018.

Qualifying DJ’s applied online and uploaded a short, five minute performance video showcasing three different musical genres. Each entry was judged on skill, originality, and music selection. 

The six (6) DJ’s who advanced to the Red Bull Music 3Style Philippine National Finals are:

The Bike Playground’s First Anniversary Brings Intense Pump Track Action!

As the first and only bike park in the country, The Bike Playground celebrated another milestone with its first anniversary event. Last April 7, 2018, The Bike Playground held the Red Bull Pump Track World Championships qualifier, an exhilarating global race series that took local pump track racing to new heights, and welcomed local biking enthusiasts from all over the country.

This was held as one of the qualifier events that are undertaken in cities around the world, which will culminate with the grand final to be held on September 7, 2018 in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. This is set to coincide with the world-renowned Union Cycliste Internationale Mountain Bike (UCI MTB) World Championships, where the official Pump Track World Champion will be named in the finals.
