Skateboarder Margielyn Didal’s New Training Leading Up To 2019 SEA Games

Twenty-year-old professional skateboarder and newly announced Red Bull Athlete, Margielyn Didal, is ready for the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held in the Philippines this December.

To prepare for her upcoming competitions, Didal underwent months of therapy at Cardia Olympia coupled with an intense assessment last July at the Red Bull High Performance Training Center in Santa Monica, California to address lingering injuries.

“Last December 2014, I had a very severe ankle sprain that didn’t seem to get better,” reveals Didal. “Until recently, it affected my skating because I kept thinking it might happen again.”

14th AASM Annual Conference And The Future of Sports in the PH

Sports is something Filipinos are passionate about but seems to have a lot of challenges to achieve in succeeding in international events like the Olympics. Yes, we do have world champions from time to time, but we never had a Olympic gold medal ever. What is lacking with Pinoy sports aside from infrastructure is management which involves not only athlete affairs but also the underlying economics and potential that has not yet tapped locally.

For the first time, the Philippines will be hosting the AASM's 14th annual conference at the De La Salle University Taft campus in Manila from August 2 to 4, 2018. Organized by the Asian Association of Sport Management (AASM), in cooperation with Sport Management Council of the Philippines (SportPhil) and the De La Salle University-Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business (DLSU-RVRCOB).

Let Support our Philippine Team to the 2011 SEA Games!

Good Luck untuk Atlet Filipina kami!

Before we compete to the 2012 London Olympics, our athletes are preparing for the regional Olympic games known as the South East Asian Games of SEA Games. Though we are making noise around the world in some sports, let us not forget that many of our athletes in different disciplines are struggling to undergo training and also buy equipment or use facilities. Last 2005, when the  SEA Games was held here, it was our support that landed us in the first place overall for the first time in the history of the games.
