"THE SHACK" From Inspirational Book To Movie

Based on the phenomenally successful New York Times best-selling novel of the same title by author William P. Young, “The Shack” takes us on a father’s transformative and spiritual journey that will show him the ultimate truth about love, loss, and forgiveness.

Oscar winner Octavia Spencer stars with Sam Worthington, Radha Mitchell and Tim McGraw in the faith-based book-to-movie adaptation of “The Shack”.  From all appearances, Mackenzie Phillips (Worthington) seems to have a good life; three great kids, a beautiful wife Nan (Mitchell), lovely home — nothing seems amiss.  But, when Mack takes the kids for an overnight camping trip, what starts out as a fun getaway soon turns into a parent’s most horrifying nightmare — his youngest daughter, Missy, is abducted from their campsite and her body is never recovered.  Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. He journeys to the shack and encounters an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a woman named Papa (Spencer). Through this meeting, Mack finds important truths that will transform his understanding of his tragedy and change his life forever.

"Everest" Chosen as Opening Film of 72nd Venice Film Festival‏

Universal Pictures’ epic adventure “Everest,” directed by Baltasar Kormákur, has been selected as the opening film, out of competition, of the 72nd Venice Film Festival (September 2nd – 12th 2015).

The world premiere of “Everest” will be screened on September 2 in the Sala Grande theatre (Palazzo del Cinema) at the Lido. Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, “Everest” documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. “Opening the Venice film festival has proven to be good luck for the awards race, with the last two openers, `Gravity' and `Birdman,' netting a slew of nominations and some major wins,” says UK newspaper The Guardian. “Baltasar Kormakur’s survival thriller `Everest' will be keen to follow,“ adds The Guardian's review, predicting the film might pick up nominations for best picture, director and supporting actor.

REEL DEAL: Sam Worthington In The True Story of "KIDNAPPING FREDDYHEINEKEN"

Acclaimed actor Sam Worthington, who rose to worldwide attention with his lead role in James Cameron’s groundbreaking “Avatar” and further cemented his role as one of Hollywood’s most-sought lead stars, lends his star power in the gritty thriller “Kidnapping Freddy Heineken” along with Sir Anthony Hopkins in the titular role.

“Kidnapping Freddy Heineken” was filmed in Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam and New Orleans where the European leg of the production presented the producers with unusual challenges in replicating the time and place of the most notorious crime that happened in 1983 when brewery tycoon Freddy Heineken was abducted along with his chauffeur.

Written by William Brookfield and directed by Daniel Alfredson from the bestselling book (of true accounts) by crime scribe and Emmy Award-winning Peter R. De Vries, the movie pans back at the time when four friends planned, abducted and released Heineken after being paid a ransom that was considered to be the largest amount paid at such time.

REEL DEAL: Staging The Perfect Crime In “KIDNAPPING FREDDY HEINEKEN”

World-acclaimed actor Anthony Hopkins whose portrayal of Hannibal in “Silence of the Lambs” gave chills to moviegoers across the globe is set to give the world anew a much stronger thrill in the upcoming tightly-paced crime thriller “Kidnapping Freddy Heineken” in which he plays the titular character.

“Kidnapping Freddy Heineken,” based on the true story of the widely followed crime event of 1983, when the real Freddy Heineken, the flamboyant Dutch brewer was kidnapped by masked men outside his main office in Amsterdam and was held captive for 21 days.
