More than Sneakers Converse holds two workshops as a support to Pinoy Street Culture

Fuelling up the creative juices of people who are into fashion, sports and the art, Converse Philippines conducted the first ever “Cons Project Manila,” a one-day event that highlights street art and Do-It-Yourself skateboard ramp workshops, at the Pelota Court, BF Resort Village, Las PiƱas City last November 22.

Aiming to create a stamp in the modern Filipino street culture, the event was inspired by the new CONS Fall 2014 Sneaker Collection which debuted last August.

Converse #PhotoClashPH Commence at Fairview Terraces

Converse never settled for anything less being a fashion icon. Recently they had the Converse #SneakersClashPH held at Fairview Terraces in line with the launch of their Spring Summer Collection with a lot of fun and cool activities that brings color and action to the people who loves the Converse brand starting with the the re-issue of the Chuck Taylor All Star 70’s. And since they have a lot of choices and editionscollections to their apparel and footwear, they made this chance to showcase these to the public as well as their new brand ambassadors.

And the Converse Get Loud Band Competition Winner Is...

We have seen them first in action as they were gathered here in Manila from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Now the 5 finalist bands are donw with their tours, recording, and preperation to the most awaited finale to know who will be the first winner of the Converse Get Loud Band Competition for the Philippines. 

But before we reveal the winner, let us first get to know what they have done during the one month preparation here in Manila.

Music is very universal yet there are music that have become too melodramatic and boring, it feels like the same thing over and over again that fill the airwaves and the mainstream scene. However, there are those undiscovered but gold artists and bands which have great pieces to share that are just waiting for that big break.

Converse then made its step to explore hidden Pinoy talent all over the nation that will redefine the Pinoy music scene. Converse recently launched the "Get Loud" campaign in search for the best Pinoy Rock Band talent ready to roll as the new kind of sound.

Shoes are Boring Wear Sneakers, this is the new mantra of the world known sneakers brand converse best known for their Chuck Taylors, and they had campaigns that not only promote their well-loved brand but also how the new generation will enjoy their lives with it.

That philosophy is also what komiks artists also share which is now on a new age of artistry and audience. Upgrading yet timeless giving its lasting permanence. Then how about having a crossover between them?

Converse Philippine recently  held an event at their flagship store in Glorietta to launch their in-store customization area "Punk Your Chucks". Renowned Filipino komik book artists Kajo Baldisimo and Bow Guerrero - of Trese and Dark Colony fame, respectively-were on hand to showcase artwork of their characters donning converse, and to "live paint" one of a kind pairs of Chuck Taylor All Star Sneakers for their fans.

First CONVERSE Flagship Store Store Opens in the Philippines

Everybody loves sneakers, and when it comes to this kind of shoe one name comes to mind, Chuck Taylor by Converse. They have been the shoe of the deviant generation, the rockstars and the  artists (like me). Its comfortable feel makes you want to jump and run, and sometimes eccentric. 


Though converse has been available in the contry for quite some time and stores in malls, they just recently launched their first flagship store in the Philippines which is the biggest in area and also with the variety of merchandise available.



In the launch January 18, 2013, it was well attended by the media, the converse management, and celebrities like Bernard Palace, Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Kapamilya stars Ejay Falcon, Khalil Ramos, Zaijan Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat. The store is located near the link between the Landmark and is along the people traffic in Glorietta.

MALL-GOERS ENJOYED AN ALL-DAY BASH at the Converse Block Party. The party, inspired by the Fourth of July block parties in the U.S. told the story of the iconic Converse shoe brand: the activities included street games, basketball-skateboard-and-dance exhibitions, graffiti art, spray-painting, musical performances and a raffle for fun and fabulous prizes.
