TIMUR BEKMAMBETOV DELIVERS THE LATEST SPECIAL EFFECTS IN “DARKEST HOUR” 3D

Visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov who gave us the highly-stylized action packed “Wanted” and “Night Watch” produces the latest in mind-blowing special effects in the 3D thriller “Darkest Hour” starring Emile Hirsch, Max Minghella, Olivia Thirlby and Rachael Taylor.

Director Chris Gorak pits young internet entrepreneurs Sean (Hirsch) and Ben (Minghella) who arrive in Moscow amidst a mysterious lightening storm.  Upon landing in the vibrant Russian capital to pursue their business dreams in the international economic center yet full of unscrupulous business practices, they met up with travelers Natalie (Thirlby) and Anne (Taylor) who are stranded in Moscow en route to Nepal.

The two pairs of best friends meet amid the glitz and glamour of the Zvezda Nightclub, the hot spot for the international and the beautiful in Moscow, including the young turk Skylar (Joel Kinnaman), the Swedish businessman who duped Sean and Ben. A mecca for the globe trotting youth, supermodels, and business elite congregating in Moscow, the club is quickly transformed to a scene of terror when the aliens invade and everything goes dark.

REEL DEAL: Scarlett Johannson's Softie Yet Toughie Role WE BOUGHT A ZOO

In Cameron Crowe’s inspiring new film,” We Bought A Zoo,” Scarlett Johansson plays Kelly Foster, a plucky and hard working young woman who is dedicated to her job as a zoo keeper and passionate about the animals in her care.

Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) buys the zoo, Rosemoor Animal Park, in order to give his family a fresh start in life. His wife Katherine has recently died and he is looking for a new direction for himself and his two young children.  Running and restoring a dilapidated zoo is ostensibly an odd choice and Mee definitely takes on more than he bargained for. With the help of an eclectic staff  and with an assortment of adventures along the way, the family works to return the run down zoo to its former glory and to heal their own pain.

Q: What type of woman is Kelly in this movie?
A: “Kelly is incredibly driven and focused. She has dedicated her entire life to her job and she actually says in the film,  ‘I don't have a life,  this is my whole life. I come here from morning to night and my friends are out enjoying themselves with different guys and going to bars.  I don't do any of that stuff.’

Q: What was the appeal and challenge of this character for you?
A: “What I love about   Kelly is that she’s so totally matter of fact.  There’s nothing about her that’s vindictive.  She doesn’t really want anything from anybody except for an honest day’s work and I appreciate that sentiment. I have never had the opportunity to really play a girl who’s very pure and straightforward in her thinking.”

REEL DEAL Movies and Television: Jeremy Renner SPOTLIGHT

Jeremy Renner talks about Tom Cruise and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
Academy Award winner Jeremy Renner  plays  the enigmatic agent William Brandt Misson Impossible: Ghost Protocol. The character had immediate appeal to Renner.  “Brandt is an analyst, a seemingly tight-wound desk guy who is smart as a whip, and that’s his job.  He’s not very emotional about things.  Then, you slowly start to see the revealing of who he really is – particularly through seeing this physical skill set you would not expect out of a tight, blue shirt-wearing analyst.  He doesn’t really want to be part of the team, but circumstances force him to join the group,” says Renner.

REEL DEAL Movies and Televsion: Wedding Tayo Wedding Hindi

The story is about  Precy (Eugene Domingo) at Belay (Toni Gonzaga) in woking on  their wedding situation. IOne is excited for her nuptial while one is working on her annulment. One excited bride and one exhausted wife ika nga! Precy has had it with her “super batugan” na asawa (Wendell Ramos as Benito) while Belay is oh-so-excited to marry the love of her life Oca (Zanjoe Marudo). “It’s a study of contrast.” sabi nga ni Direk Joey Reyes na ginawang natural pero riot ang mga nakakatawang eksena sa pelikula. With a formidable cast, a realistic storyline, and knockout punchlines swak na swak ang timpla ng pelikula. Iyan ang winning formula kung bakit patok sa takilya ngayon ang “Wedding Tayo Wedding Hindi”! The whole cast has nothing but good words to their co-stars. “Very professional! Talagang seryoso s’ya sa kung anong hinihingi ng eksena. Hindi lang s’ya adlib ng adlib. ‘Yung comedy n’ya detalyado talaga!” says Wendell of his on-screen wife Eugene. Eugene on the other hand says of Wendell, “Ang init ni Wendell! Ang anghang! Pasabog! Hindi ko kaya! Nakakapanlambot. Abangan n’yo kung matutuloy ang hiwalayan!” While Toni and Zanjoe has previously worked on a project together, they both rediscovered each other’s good qualities.

Being A Nuffnang Blogger is the Hottest Thing Since 1989

Being a Nuffnang blogger make me a hot blogger too. As I tell stories of new and exciting tales of the metro and the world, I make sure that all my post ate updated and hot of the grill. Living life in the fast lane just like the cowboys. Speaking of Cowboys, one hot movie event is also happening this August with Cowboys and Aliens. And just like Pizza Hut that serves hot and fresh pizza since 1989.

Nuffnang and Hapee First Class in the Industry

What makes a brand first class? It can be proven in so many ways and always have an edge above the others. Like the mutants of the X-men First class, they were the pioneers in gathering powerful individuals and making a great team. These traits also is what Nuffnang, the region's leading blog advertising community and Hapee, the leader in providing affordable and quality toothpaste in the country has also pioneered to go a step further and left a mark in the industry. Though they don't have mutant powers they have built communities helping other people. Like in hapee, who employs people with impaired hearing which give jobs to handicapped people. And Nuffnang, helping bloggers and advertisers with community events and ads. This also inspires me to watch, X-men first class as I am a fanatic of the series even back in the comics and television series. So don;t be afraid to be special and first class because you can and you can change the world.

REEL DEAL: Gulliver's Travels PLUS Scrat's Continental Crack Up!

When you insert Jack Black into a great classic story, the effect is a LOL-a-thon! We have been familiar with the story written by Jonathan Smith centuries ago. And the classic picture of having a man tied up on the beach by hundreds and hundreds of little people called Lilliputians. Though the story is a fairy tale classic, having this one retold with the modern touch is good and absolutely funny.
The setting of Lilliput actually follows the classic traditions and customs, basically Gulliver is the only thing modern. This makes the clash and a lot of laughs with so many things one could relate to. You would definitely like the Royal Family of Lilliput especially the princesses. You could actually learn a classic word from the nobles, something you can add to your vocabulary.
I could say it is a family movie since you could realize values with the turn of events. Though if you would compare it to the classic story, it goes to almost a 270 degree turn. I could definitely say that you will laugh at the edge of your seats every time Gulliver (Jack Black) gives out his line. Black does the thing he do best here, hitting you with nostalgia mixed with comedy!

And theres more! Before the movie, a special short from the unlikely character from Ice Age, scrat the squirel and his never ending quest to save his beloved acorn! Of course, this becomes a hilarious misadventure into the earth as in literally. You would realize how the continents were formed and also the evolution of many species, and the unending quest if he would achieve his goal with the coveted acorn! Go Scrat!

Deliberation time kids!

ROSARIO DAWSON IS UNSTOPPABLE IN A MAN’S WORLD

Inspired by actual events, “Unstoppable” is an adrenaline rush fueled by director Tony Scott’s signature mark of propulsive action rooted in the reality of ordinary people placed in extraordinary circumstances. A veteran train engineer (Denzel Washington) and a young conductor (Chris Pine) race the clock to stop an unmanned runaway train – effectively a missile the size of a skyscraper -- and prevent disaster in a heavily populated area.

As Frank and Will face imminent danger, their one solace is the voice of Yardmaster Connie Hooper (Rosario Dawson) over the radio. Stationed back at Mingo Yard, where the runaway locomotive began as a simple coaster, Connie is a voice of reason and direction throughout the chaos. “Connie represents a different face of the railroad,” says screenwriter Bomback. “She is someone who could eventually become part of the executive ranks because she’s extremely capable and used railroading as an opportunity to take control of her fate.”
“Connie is a strong woman,” says actress Rosario Dawson. “She is confident and assertive without being arrogant or bitchy which is an absolute necessity if you want to be successful in a traditionally male role. The train yard is definitely a man’s world.”
“It was a challenge to make sure that Connie’s voice could be heard by all the men around her,” she continues. “Not just the men she supervises, but also the corporate executives. She has to be heard and accepted because lives are always at stake in her job.”

Even before Connie learns that a train has left her yard unmanned that brisk morning, her day is off to a less than stellar start. As she arrives late for work, she encounters an insipid safety inspector from the Federal Railroad Administration sent to assist her in hosting a field trip of elementary school children learning about train safety, a time-consuming endeavor about which she is wholly unenthusiastic. When the assistant yardmaster finds humor in her misery, she’s further discouraged and realizes this day is going to be particularly long. If she only knew.

“She’s the voice of reason in very dramatic circumstances,” adds Dawson. “Even though she has to follow the protocol outlined in some dusty manual, she has to get a grip, think on her feet and move forward and make decisions with a confidence she doesn’t necessarily have when it comes to a train the size of the Chrysler Building moving like a missile into dense population.”
All three lead actors admit that the unstoppable train – the 777 – steals every scene. “The 777 is the real star of the movie,” says Washington. “It’s the shark in ‘Jaws.’ It’s the monster in the room that’s going to destroy people, towns -- anything and everything in its path. Chris Pine and I are just side men. It’s all about the train, that’s why it’s called Unstoppable.”

“Connie and her team back at the Yardstation are looking at a wall of blinking lights,” explains Dawson. “Every one of those lights is someone’s home, a farm, a school, a business. Frank and Will are out there watching the actual houses and businesses blur past them. They’re driving backwards down the track in a train that’s rattling so much it’s almost falling apart. But they don’t need us to be scared for them; they need us to provide information so that they can make educated choices. Each group has its vision of what it’s experiencing and it’s only by communicating that the two worlds blend.”

Dawson (Yardmaster Connie Hooper) has garnered praise for her numerous leading roles with today’s hottest film actors and directors, making her one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading ladies. Dawson received a Satellite Award for her performance as Mimi Marquez in the film “Rent.” She was honored again in 2007 at ShoWest, where she was named Supporting Actress of the Year.

Recently awarded as Best Actress in a Motion Picture at the 2009 NAACP Image Awards for her performance in “Seven Pounds” (opposite Will Smith) and the Half-Life Award at the 2008 Cine Vegas International Film Festival alongside Don Cheadle, Viggo Mortensen and Sam Rockwell, Dawson’s other notable films include the hit teen movie “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief,” “Eagle Eye,” “Killshot,” “Grindhouse,” “Death Proof,” “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints,” “Alexander,” “Shattered Glass,” “25th Hour,” “He Got Game” and “Men in Black 2.”
“Unstoppable” opens November 12 (Friday) in theaters nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

REEL DEAL: SALT

Angelina did it again as she kicked butt hard with a dash of SALT. This movie is one of the awaited films this year and it did not disapoint its viewers as it proved to be worthy of being a action film to remember for life. SALT follows the life of a CIA Agent Evelyn Salt as she is set up into a spy conspiracy that involves a assasination attempt of a world leader, in an event they call Day X. This movie made me think that the USSR conspiracy is still alive and will leave you puzzed at first and craving for more at the end.

The film also stars , Liev Shcreiber, who also stared as Sabertooth from the X men origins: Wolverine, as Salt's partner in the CIA. Chiwetel Ejiofor is Peabody, who also works for the ONCIX  is on a mousehunt for the alleged spy. What made the chase more interesting is how Salt went into a transformation and also as a master of different arts. You will also love the transformations that she did in this movie, very sleek, classy yet shows an aura of a heroine.

One interesting fact is originally, Tom Cruise was the first pick to play (Edwin A.) Salt. But since Cruise has a lot of commitments at that time, so it was made into a role of Angelina. Angelina also made the stunts on this film by herself, proving that she is really one tough woman. The sequel for this one is awaited by fans and also did very well in the box office.
Deliberation time kids!

Movie summary in 3 lines:YOU ROCK SALT !

WOMEN OF WALL STREET

Esquire – In the original Wall Street, the part of Darien Taylor, Bud Fox’s (Charlie Sheen) girlfriend and Gekko’s ex “was not well developed.”  Michael Douglas who plays Gekko (“Wall Street 1 and 2”) would later say that Daryl Hannah’s casting caused problems. Hannah wasn’t happy playing the materialistic social climber, and director Oliver Stone’s tough approach to her performance upset her.  While Douglas bagged an Oscar for his performance, Hannah won a Razzie for worst Supporting Actress.
In the new movie, “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” which opens worldwide this September, Oscar-nominated Cary Mulligan plays Winnie, Gordon Gekko’s estranged daughter and girlfriend of Shia LaBeouf’s Jake Moore.

Reel Deal: ALICE IN WONDERLAND

I know that most of you have already know the story of Alice in her adventures in a place called wonderland. But for this version, Alice is now a 19 year old lady within the Victorian society but does not seem to fit there. She fell down again in a rabbit hole to enter the world of Underland the real name of wonderland). From there she encountered talking animals and other creatures that were surreal.

Of course, there is the protagonistic Red Queen that reigns over the whole land and always on a spree of rolling heads (literally). The Knave of Hearts also as an accomplice and the army of cards. On the other hand, there is also the White Queen, a kind and pure royal with a vow not to take a life of any creature. Alice also find herself in the company of the famous characters like the Mad Hatter, March Hare and the Dorm mouse. Since the Alice for this story is a little more bigger, she have forgotten her past adventure in the same world years ago. Also she is pressured with a lot of responsibilities in Underland and also the Human world.
I really love the movie since it will impart to you very important values and realizations in life that we can really learn from. When the movie ended, I heard applause from the audience meaning that they loved it. And I am also confident you will too.
