Nine leaders set to share secrets of success at the upcoming leadership summit

We all have someone whom we look up to. Be it an athlete, a book author, an actor, or a public figure. Whoever that may be, they all have one thing in common: they are successful on their chosen field; they all strived for success and never gave up.

This August 9, 2012, nine leaders in both business and public fields are set to share and reveal their own experiences, expertise and insights on what it takes to be successful at the Leadership and Success Summit at the Executive Lounge of Tower 1, Ayala Triangle, Ayala Avenue, Makati City, organized by the Ephesians Management Corporation (EMC). EMC is a Filipino-owned company engaged in Management Consultancy that offers services with immediate impacts on clients’ operations and prepares their work environment for long term competition.

The Social Media Prayer By Father Stephen Cuyos, MSC

The First Catholic Social Media Summit happened this weekend and I was sad because I was not a part of it due to financial constraints. However, I am very happy for the church to be more aware of the power of the internet and the social media in shaping the minds and hearts of the youth and society today. This actually inspired me to be part of the Social Media Group of the Archdiocese of Manila Commission on Youth.  Though frustrated not able to attend the event, I see that there was an increase of interest from different sectors and dioceses all over the country to utilize this resource that is really a great help if used properly. I just saw a SOCIAL MEDIA PRAYER by Father Stephen Cuyos, MSC who is also what you can call a "techie priest". Here is the prayer that is worth sharing to friends and family and further understand the value of this technology for the good of us all.

I Conquered The Great Northern Sale at SM City North EDSA!

I know that in these times of strange weather, the best remedy would be retail therapy. And luckily SM City North EDSA is back with The Great Northern Sale happening this Payday weekend, July 13, 14, and 15. As a practical shopper, value for money is still my concern to get the bang for my buck.

Shopping at the biggest mall in the country is no easy task as there are almost a thousand shops and over a million items on sale that would really be hard for me to ignore. But given this opportunity to check out great finds, I set on a quest to conquer the GREAT NORTHERN SALE.

As expected, there are thousands of people around me. Wherever you look, there is a lot of people walking by pairs, groups and even individuals with either a bag of sale items up to boxes of appliances and some furniture. I dropped by first at the Block to watch the Fashion Runway Show showcasing latest trends from top fashion brands.

Chef Boy gives Marian Rivera cooking assignments!

Even though Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is busy with her showbiz commitments, her desire to enroll in a culinary school continues.

During a set visit on Tweets for my Sweet, Marian admits that for now her schedule does not permit enrolling in a culinary school. She's thankful that she is working with Chef Boy Logro who serves as her mentor in cooking.

"Katulad nga niyan na busy ako, si Chef may binigay na magazines na may mga recipes niya. Sabi niya itry mo yan, kapag nalito daw ako tawagan ko daw siya. Tapos kapag inaral ko na, binibigyan niya ako ng assignments para naman patuloy akong matuto sa pagluluto." Marian shares.

Meanwhile, Tito Panch (Chef Boy Logro), the younger brother of Meg and Adele's dad will visit Same Same Café. He will tell them that he didn't pursue his plans of going to Mexico because of an illegal employer.

Will Tito Panch be the answer to Meg's question about her long lost mom?

Find out on Tweets for my Sweet every Sunday before 24 Oras Weekend on GMA.

In Marvin Agustin’s two-day hosting stint at Wil Time Bigtime, the actor-entrepreneur-restaurateur proved to be a contestant’s lucky charm.

"Pinaginipan daw niya at idinasal na color blue ang piliin niya. Pumunta pa siya sa simbahan and God gave her the sign the "will" at color blue ang piliin,” shares Marvin. “Truly, she got her prayers answered.”

Marvin remains thankful to Willie Revillame for choosing him to host the show for three consecutive days.

Tonight is his last night to host the show as Willie is set to return tomorrow night on the show.

"Sobra akong nag-enjoy sa pay-ho-host ng Witime Bigtime,” concludes Marvin. “Nakakapagpasaya ka na, nakakatulong ka pa. Salamat Kuya Wil."

Villar Foundation Extend Help to Repatriated OFWs

With optimistic views on the economy of the Philippines, and the financial crisis in some European countries like Greece and Spain, many OFWs are being repatriated back to the country. However, they would usually come home empty handed due to the cost of going back, and even some of them were victims of abuse from their employers.

Its great to hear NGOs like the Villar Foundation to help our fellow Pinoy to come back home safe and sound. But it does not only end there because they would also extend an additional assistance in the form of livelihood package to help them start with small yet practical businesses.
