I Conquered The Great Northern Sale at SM City North EDSA!

I know that in these times of strange weather, the best remedy would be retail therapy. And luckily SM City North EDSA is back with The Great Northern Sale happening this Payday weekend, July 13, 14, and 15. As a practical shopper, value for money is still my concern to get the bang for my buck.  

Shopping at the biggest mall in the country is no easy task as there are almost a thousand shops and over a million items on sale that would really be hard for me to ignore. But given this opportunity to check out great finds, I set on a quest to conquer the GREAT NORTHERN SALE.

As expected, there are thousands of people around me. Wherever you look, there is a lot of people walking by pairs, groups and even individuals with either a bag of sale items up to boxes of appliances and some furniture. I dropped by first at the Block to watch the Fashion Runway Show showcasing latest trends from top fashion brands.

I also got this cool GOURMET CARD which I can use at restaurants in the mall that gives me exclusive deals with every purchase at partner stores, thus giving more reasons to shop and dine during the 3 day sale! From July 12-15, customers are entitled to a FREE Gourmet Card when they register at the redemption booth located at the 2nd floor of The Block. Then, from July 13-August 15, simply present your card upon ordering in participating restaurants to get special discounts and freebies!

I would map out my way through the terrain with eyes peeled with things of good bargains. As I stroll through the main mall which has been an icon in Philippine malls and just recently celebrated its 25th year and still the most popular place to go to. And if you are a keen observer there is a big QR code pasted on the wall which you will just scan and be directed to the website to get a chance of winning special prizes! Isn't that sweet since there is the mall-wide free wifi so you could also update your status and check in like I do!

I got to the SM Department Store which I know has the widest selection of discounted products. And what I had in mind is to buy apparel for myself. I found myself looking at a great pair of red sneakers for 499.5 less 50%. Then I also got socks for only 180 less 30%, and an underwear . This sums up to about 537 pesos only! If not for the sale it might have been probably 700-800 pesos, thus giving me big savings!

To cap off my shopping experience I got to eat at Chowking using my HappyPlus card and then head to one of the cinemas to watch the last full show of The Amazing Spiderman (and will post my review later). 

It was indeed a very tiring yet fun day for me even though I have not roamed every nook and cranny of the mall, which I usually do. But it was all worth it. I got great deals, I got to see the latest fashion trends and also watched a great comic book film to relax me from thick crowd. With this, I can truly say I CONQURED THE GREAT NORTHERN SALE!
