Given the chance how will you alleviate poverty? That is a question that most of us ask to our fellow Filipinos and even to ourselves. That is why the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines Alumni Community (TOSP-AC) , PLDT Smart Foundation, RFM Foundation, and PLDT Ka Asenso fourmulated a formula of:
Youth + Technology + Entrepreneurship
Through Project Pagsulong which aims to promote youth to do businesses and also at the same time make a social impact with the community called Social Entrepreneurship. The Program Lifecycle starts with the application that is still ongoing (June to August 30, 2012). Each team should be 3 members(18-30 years old) to 5 max with 1 proposal.
Then, the screening process will happen on September 2012 and they are expecting about 1000 entries to be trimmed down to 30 semi finalists until to the 10 finalists. They will then undergo mentoring and coaching (October to February 2013) with Mon Lopez Jorge Wieneke.
Ambassadors
They also have chosen youth ambassadors representing different sectors that will also serve as role models for the youth to be inspired. Some of them are Chris Tiu, Nicolo Cosme, Noel Cabangon, Bam Aquino, Japoy Lizardo, Reese Fernandez-Ruiz to name a few.
Presentation and Awarding
For the 1st place he will receive Php 500,000, the 2nd will have Php 300,000 and 3rd Php 200,000. There is also a People's Choice Award.
The Implementation of the project will happen on April 2013-April 2014, that would not only get a return of investment but also will benefit people in skills and also jobs that the project will create.
