The Simpsons Artist Joins iAcademy As Creative Director

iACADEMY, one of the country’s leading schools in computing, business  and design named Dane Romley as Creative Director. 

Romley is a graduate of Animation from Woodbury University in Burbank California. He was the digital rough poser and supervisor of Topdraw animation studios and he is most known for his contributions in the award winning cartoon, The Simpsons. 

For five years, Romley served as the character layout artist and designer of The Simpsons Television show and The Simpsons Movie. He created layouts including rough backgrounds and camera movements along with character and object animation. He also provided character designs for The Springfield Up and Tree House of Horror XVII. 

'The Colors Of My Life Celia Diaz Laurel - Painter' Coffee Table Book To Be Launched June 18

Celia Diaz Laurel is a name synonymous to world of arts.

By virtue of imagination, talent or skill to create works of aesthetic value, especially in the field of fine arts, Celia Diaz Laurel has gained the reputation for being a prolific stage actress, painter, writer, poetess, set and costume designer for more than six decades.

Now at 86 years of age, Celia Diaz Laurel has a record feat of chalking up hundreds of stage plays and musicals, painting a treasure trove of artworks on different subjects, and writing / publishing books.

And yet, Celia Diaz-Laurel is still up and about to launch her latest project which is a coffee table book aptly titled ‘The Colors of My Life Celia Diaz Laurel – Painter’ on June 18 – Wednesday 4 p.m. at the Executive House located at Maramag St. corner Tavera St., Area 14, University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City.

REEL DEAL: The Fault In Our Stars REVIEW

Teen Love is often stereotyped as somethings that is very childish and juvenile in understanding the ways of love and the world. However, John Green's novel "The Fault In Our Stars" turns its into one "sick" love story.

Despite the plot cliches that would be expected for a drama, it had its own appeal of connecting to the audiences. With an story of friends having terminal illness, they find comfort, friendship, and love in each other. The friendship shared by Agustus Waters and Hazel Grace Lancaster is something not everyone who have to go to as they are afflicted with sickness and their days are uncertain. 

Probably YOLO (You only live once) could be another term for this book/film as they would go to different heights and places just to fulfill their bucket list if ever they are bound to be. But unlike the mainstream, they literally would experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities because they knew it could be their last.  I have to admit, I cried thrice for scenes that had a certain feeling of love, nostalgia, and even my values.   

MUSIC LYF: Original Soundtrack of the Musical Film "Walking On Sunshine" To be Released June 26

Sony Music is proud to announce the release of the original motion picture soundtrack of the musical Walking on Sunshine. All of these numbers are performed with real verve by the stars of the film cast.

20th Century Fox Animation and Reel FX Animation Studios present “The Book of Life” starring Channing Tatum, Zoë Saldana, Diego Luna, Christina Applegate, Ice Cube, Kate del Castillo and Ron Perlman.  Produced by acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and directed by Jorge Gutierrez. Usually, we take ants for granted—but do you know that an ant infestation can cause major problems for our health and home? There are hundreds of ant species in the Philippines but households usually get invaded by three types of ants, in general: the black garden ant, the brown Pharaoh ant, and the tropical fire ant. Below are the threats from an ant infestation:

Bites, stings, and venom. Ant bites are not only painful but can cause swelling or even rashes. There are ants, like the tropical fire ant, that sting and inject venom. These are more dangerous; people who are allergic to ant venom may need emergency treatment. Depending on its severity, an allergic reaction to ant venom can be fatal.

Contamination and diseases. Here’s another reason we should not take an ant infestation for granted: ants can carry harmful bacteria that cause serious diseases. Some ants eat decomposing plants and animals. When the ants go from their feeding area into your house, they are potentially carrying harmful germs. Pharaoh ants are known carriers of the salmonella bacteria, which causes potentially fatal infections.
